Hello all,

This is obviously a known issue since I’ve seen it on this great forum. Thought I’d share just a single picture. I had new rubber put on all four corners today and every single piece of foam but ONE had pulled loose from both the fronts and rear and was laying inside the rim! They literally only had two small dots of glue on each panel 🤬

I had PS4’s put on all the way around. If you have the P Zeros and are experiencing steering wheel wobble or shimmies, it might be contributing.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Given that the tread lasts about five minutes, I think I'm theory it should last the life of the tire. When I swapped mine, the foam was still intact, but when I had a repair done they had to pull one off and stick it down again. I haven't reused that one yet.
the reason I asked is my car hasn't been driven at all. only 1000 miles since 2019 after I took delivery.

how long will these foam last without being loose?
To help set a bit of a backstory on mine.........I bought my 570S with only 4,400 miles on her. From the day I had her delivered and drove her, I always felt like I was never getting enough heat in the tires, and it felt like I was driving on ice even though I live in sunny Florida. Anyway, the tires obviously needed changing because they were at a minimum of 5 years old and felt "hard" with little to no pliability left in them (if that's a real word). They still had plenty of tread, I just didn't feel comfortable with them. One weekend I was out driving and noticed a significant wobble in the steering wheel at about 70-75 mph that had never been there before. I hadn't hit any potholes or run over anything so I started searching this forum and stumbled across the multiple threads on the foam issues and related wheel shimmies/wobbles. Well, for me since I was already leaning towards new tires, that was the final straw and pushed me to put pull the P-Zero's off and replace with the PS4S'! I'm glad I did because the car drives like a dream and no wheel wobble anywhere. Out of curiosity, I asked the Tire shop to let me know what the foam looked like when he pulled all four tires. As I stated in the quick write-up I did........absolutely EVERY piece but one had pulled/broken loose from all four tires and was just wobbling around inside. There was two (2) small dime-sized glue spots on each foam panel and that was it. Anyway, at this point I'm rambling, but the new tires are great, and I certainly do not notice road noise over the beautiful humm of the engine.

did you try balancing the old tires first before getting the new ones?

I considered it, but they were shot and I wanted them off the car. If you look at just the single picture attached, you can see how old, hard and shiny the rubber compound was on them compared to some of the new ones right behind them. They needed to go. I got them GONE :ROFLMAO:
