Picked up a 12C and long road trip

Greetings all - I picked up #1562 from McLaren Philadelphia last Thursday afternoon and am loving the car. Volcano Orange/Carbon Black, ~22,500 mi, full dealer service history since new. Drove it from Philly to Richmond, VA that evening. Friday morning up early, made a stop in Greenville, SC for lunch with kid #1, then up to Louisville, KY that night through torrential rains in the Smoky Mountains. Saturday morning brunch with kid #2 and made it to Topeka, KS that night with snow flurries and below freezing temps most of the way. Sunday morning up early again and a drive across KS with high winds, blowing dust and dodging many tumbleweeds (glad for the PPF!), arriving home in Denver in the afternoon. Car was flawless throughout, sipping 93, 91, 88 and even 87 octane fuel while yielding 23.5 mpg overall for the tip. No warning lights, no hiccups of any kind. Great trip and enjoyed chatting with dozens of people who asked about the car at gas stations, restaurants, motels, etc. Looking forward to being a part of the community here!

Congratulations on your purchase of a beautiful car.
Congratulations. Your 12c looks great in that picture at night.
Silly question, but is the car tuned? If not - no issues "Sipping" 91/88/87 Octane fuel (assuming the tank was filled each time with that grade of fuel)?

No - it was CPOed.
Not tuned, yet. I'm having 4 new MPS4S installed (car came with P Zeros on the front and somewhat worn Cup 2s on the rear) , along with 15mm spacers and 40mm Ti lug bolts from Exotic Car Gear next week. Considering an M-Engineering tune but haven't committed yet.

Congrats! Beautiful car!

Happy to help answer any questions you may have on tuning or the process in general. Before tuning I would recommend making sure that everything is up to date on maintenance. Oil change, plugs/coils, filters, etc...

We've seen a few of the 3.8L McLarens have issues with the foam in the air box clogging the filters as they age. McMedics had a nice video about this recently.

Be aware that your ESC will be impacted if you tune.
Congratulations! I'm in Denver as well. What part of town are you in? I recently picked up a 650s Spider and I'm just loving it!

Interesting. Do you know what the practical impact would be i.e. only matters on the track vs major negative changes during any situation where ESC would kick in, even while spirited street driving?

Any computer/engine/trans coverage would go out the window for sure, possibly electrical as well.

Any modifications will affect parts of the ESC, with any failure regardless of where it happens. A tuned engine, for example, is likely to result in a denied claim for any engine failure (and probably transmission too).
Thanks guys - car was not CPO and no ESC in place (I was multi-tasking and thought the comments were about electronic stability control instead of extended service contract 😅)

Yes - turns out it wasn't CPO and I worked out a very significant discount

Congrats on the purchase. Love that you're already doing what these cars were meant to do, be driven! What was that, at least a 2k mile trip home?

Thanks! Right at 2,200 mi including a couple of detours. Super comfortable road car. There was some wind noise from the frameless windows as I approached the legal speed limit (;)) in various states, but other than that no complaints. I bought a bluetooth dongle so I could stream music from Tidal and had my Escort Redline 360 watching the perimeter. Other than some wild weather at times, an uneventful trip.
