Well..this is the second time I experienced this and I will have it diagnosed next week..Business as usual...proudly enter, latch belt , start her up and ...parking brake will not release. MESSAGE: Error..parking brake request rejected Call Mcalren service center( or something similar)
Noone knows what occured but I am sure they will get to it..Once I locked car, let her sit for 5-10 minutes, reentered..all was OK...
I will advise findings...

Strange, ive never had a problem, belt up and slight gas pedal and the brake disengages,i have to manually disengage if im not belted in.Does your hill hold not work on the parking brake? Or is that the gearbox,i must try ,never thought about that!

Well I learn something everyday. I always pushed the parking brake switch off but apparently it will do it for you!

Ah! The seatbelt. Often I do that after I start rolling. Thanks Andy.

I've used hill assist a few times in San Francisco, and it works REALLY well. This includes some of those awful hills where in a regular manual you have to drop the clutch and floor it to stop from rolling into the idiot who's pulled up 2" behind you at a light.

After all that ive noW forgotten the sequence of leaving the brake off when parked?
Please remind me,DOOR OPEN ,FOOT ON BRAKE THEN ?????
Hold parking brake button and then open door while holding the button. Remember that the car will go into neutral and possibly roll away!:)
