We have a hype economy. The cars or news are secondary. Your $3.47 in clicks in blog news social media, about the “news” is more valuable than the underlying products.

I think I saw a story where 40% of gen z want to be “influencers”. So sad. What is sadder, I bet in another 10years that will go to over 60% who want to sit around doing banal “hi guyssssss!” Intros with un-insightful non-offensive discussion about their thoughts on some shill product.

In essence when Steve Jobs asked John Sculley “do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or come to apple and change the world”, today, most would prefer to be in sales.

2645lbs, I’ll assume is dry. Add 300lbs for fluids and you’re at 2950lbs curb. That, if true, is actually really good coming in 100lbs lighter than the 765with a v12.

I’m kind of surprised that a turbo v12 would only make 880hp? Maybe to leave headroom for the variants to come.

Limited to 100 cars. What a joke. There will be 1000 variants of this thing.

That said, I generally like his over the top designs, so I look forward to seeing what he’s cooked up.

As far as I know Pagani never said how much the new car is gonna weigh, only that they focused more on weight this time. So 1200kg dry is just a pure speculation on someone's part. That said, the Mercedes TT V12 is a very heavy engine and because it makes 1000Nm the gearbox on the Huayra was about 115kg as well. The lightest Huayra spec, the BC Roadster, was weighed at 1400kg. Maybe with the new car they could reach 1300kg, but I would be quite impressed if they managed to make it lighter than that.

Just curious, where do you get 300 pounds from?
A couple of people around here did a calculation a while back and depending on the size of the fuel tank etc (eg a gallon of gas weighs 6.1lbs * ~18gal capacity =108lbs, + x lbs for oil/transmission/wiper fluid, etc) and came to around 200-300lbs for all fluids. I don’t remember the thread, unfortunately. But it’s proven to be a good rule of thumb.

I think I remember that, but it just seems high. For example, a Huayra has a 19 gallon fuel tank. That's about 120 pounds. I would think that a full fuel tank is heavier than windshield wiper fluid, oil, etc. Gordon quotes 64 pounds for the T.50 for fluids not accounting fuel

I'm guessing it's much closer to 200 pounds than 300

There is coolant (~3gal), antifreeze (~3gal), oil (~8gal), windshield fluid (~1gal), transmission fluid (~3gal). I’m sure I’m forgetting some other stuff, so it all adds up. You may well be right that it works out to 200, but I like to err to the higher end of the scale as I think it tends to be pretty good and most weights given by manufacturers are bs cheats to start, and I’d rather err on the side of being conservative with the guesstimate. That said, 200lbs also reasonable guesstimate.

The level of detail was unparalleled from everything I've ever been in including Rolls-Royce. I seen the car and like this for its beauty but walked away totally starstruck by how amazing it was. I'll never forget that ride it was fast and comfortable and just amazing.

With Pagani you know you're in something special. I love my Mclaren but Pagani it's just a whole Other level up.

Absolutely. At close quarters, Pagani is much more stunning and impressive than the other hypers, including K-egg.
