Was told by people in the know that the owner was guaranteedto get at least $8.5 million USD at the auction. Will be interesting if it hits that level. Maybe in 10+ years the P1 will be at least double the price at launch, then I will be ale to look back and smile at the wise decision to get a P1.

My friend was spot on. the F1 chassis 066 went for $8.47 million USD last night at Gooding.

8.47m was after buyer's commission I thought? The seller got sub 8m.. still plenty of cash but not quite 8.5!
