We received our Blade Silver 570S yesterday. We configured it almost the same as the New York Auto Show car with the Saddle Tan interior which turned out beautifully and makes for a really enjoyable cabin feel! I've only put a few easy miles on it today (my wife will be the primary driver of this one) but, WOW, it's a really fun car to drive! As I suspected it really drives like a McLaren! And holy smoke is it gorgeous! It feels incredibly capable. I can feel the suspension is not as bump-absorbing as the 650S but it's still as good as (or better than) any other car I've driven not made by McLaren, including my two former Ferrari 458s, so that's saying a lot. The steering feel is just sumptuous. The brakes also feel great under foot. The new upgraded B&W sound system is no slouch either! I'm just loving this car and so glad that I added it to the family.
The diamond cut wheels were back ordered so the dealer told us to enjoy the car now and they'll swap the wheels out for the diamond cuts super lightweights when they get them.
I'm hoping my wife will let me take this to the Pure McLaren track day in Austin next week. I'll do most of the my laps in the P1 but I'm dying to see how the 570S handles on the track. I'd be willing to bet it laps faster than the 458 I drove there previously!
There's no question in my mind that McLaren has hit this one out of the park! There are a few things they should work into this product line like: fixing the IRIS display polarization so it doesn't conflict polarized sun glasses (like Maui Jim), adding expected features like: HomeLink and adaptive headlights that light up around corners. But I will say that, despite not being adaptive, the headlights in the 570S are still really good and definitely the best I've seen yet on a McLaren.
They might call this the Sport Series but it sure feels like a Supercar to me! Well done McLaren!
