Question on oil level check…

Most times when I’ve checked the oil level, the car keeps the RPMs at a smooth 2k rpms.
I’ve had two occasions now, where the RPMs will bounce erratically around 2k RPMs? Almost like it’s in launch control. Still runs the oil check without issue.

I tired searching but could find anything on this.

I’ve only been able to do it twice, all other times are normal. If I remember correctly, both times the temp was above 200f.

I’ll see if I can replicate and get a video of it

Try with all active settings off and see if it does it again..... It shouldnt.

Why would the active button make a difference?

I am not totally sure yet, its something I am looking into further but torque factor settings could be different per setting, they are the same on the 12c, but 600LT might be different.

With tuning however, they can be changed as I have changed mine. Actually gives the settings a meaning because on the 12c, they are all the same apart from the gearbox. Engine, nothing changes, but believe it does on the 600LT and this could be causing the confusion, I have changed the torque factor on my sport and track settings and when I did an oil check the other day, the idles bounced as per what the OP is saying, I turned off active and all was fine and normal.

Mine (570) occasionally has erratic revs when checking the oil, but it's always going to be in Active mode. Idle is sometimes a bit weird anyway before fully warmed up.

For good measure, do the test with active button off, you shouldnt see the issue anymore.

I quite often see this happen when the engine temperature is below 90 degrees F, especially down below 75 degrees F. After it warms up some it stops and becomes normal.

My 600 does this as well... check the oil with active off, everything in "stock" mode with emergency brake on like mrvex - car will then check the oil in a smooth operation like you mentioned op. It's not temperature related.

That's how I do it in all cars, and all cars do it with temperature how I stated.
