If you have bought through Romans, the original owner would have got the Iris for free, that is if he ordered it.IF he didnt order it you will not be getting it??
You need to contact Romans to find out if it was on the original invoice, the only other problem is if the Iris was given free to the car or the original owner,i say this because no-one has the iris yet and in some countries they are only getting a 30% discount on it.I wouldnt think Romans would have this as a quarentee so you need something in writing from them incase you have to stump up for it.Im not sure of the legal implications but Mclaren dont like this end of the market and want to support the dealerships.Im sure you have bought in good faith, but we would be interested in the outcome, good luck

Hi and welcome.

Is it the titanium car? Did you pay much of a premium for it or just list? Mine arrives on the 1st march

No its the graphite grey......I believe romans didn't own the car but were simply selling on behalf of the 1st owner who, for whatever reason, has decided to move it on! I am happy with the price i've paid as the spec is exactly how I would have done it......

sgw62. My understanding regarding Doris is that all UK customers had to purchase Doris, a common sort but claimed to be seductive and worth it. Thus your car will have Doris on the invoice and presumably Mclarens commitment to supply when she turns up.

At the moment you are missing nothing.

By the way Doris was a no cost or FOC item on the invoice. Remember you get to look at most girls before purchase and no one has seen or heard Doris.

no ones been allowed to get hard with Iris but it is claimed to be released 'shortly' .........3 or more months or less or......the people in Ron's World are very upbeat about what they have seen so far. I think they are trying their best to ensure it is beyond criticism, so more short term delay is acceptable.

i do accept that in the overall scheme of things it is fairly insignificant but I haven't had it for free and at +£5k I want to cover off my options as Andy C has mentioned. Should the 1st owner have had a Mclaren ipod as a further gesture?
Are you on schedule for delivery 1st March?

I pretty sure everyone has the ipod if they have ordered a system thats not fully functioning ,that seems to be part of the deal.I wonder if the first owner kept it as a memento????? Best check if he has taken the spare wheel aswell:D
Any one here who hasnt got an ipod ??? so Steve can ask for something thats rightly his.

Hi There and congrats on your new car. You will love it. I have an ipod.

I adore the car and the driving experience but ...........

IMOP Doris ,Mavis and Iris are bitches they make dates with me and never turn up. Tired of being teased actually. I am told by London supply is likely to be in June. I believe this is harming the reputation of the car - 1 year late then. This does not show clinical perfection just complete incompetence.

Sorry Andy but it is inexcusable.

Hi I can not work out why they did not just put a generic working satnav and info-tainment system in for now then upgrade at a later date with Doris FOC at least then we would have something to use. I do think Mclaren never seem to like drawing lines in the sand and just saying " this is it " then either upgrade at a later date FOC if perfection is still not attained or hold it for the mid cycle face lift all models will no doubt have.

I think the problem arose as they entered production and realised that the supplier would not achieve mission. They were then back at square with no plan B. Wonder if the screen orientation blocked traditional suppliers but I'm guessing.

Do any of you owners believe (or have knowledge) that this IRIS thing will be delivered in say the next 3 months? I have seen anything from March to June as possible delivery...... As others have said, it does seem incredulous that this option is still not functional at this stage of the car's life with over 1000 already manufactured!
