Today I finally collected my car, sadly a bit late in the day for photos but hopefully a chance tomorrow.
I'm in central England but plan to use the car for European adventures, already booked for France next month and Monaco next year, so bought the car to use.
Previously had Porsche 911 Turbos for the last 12 years and although only a short drive home I'm thoroughly enjoying the car and the whole purchase experience.

Azure Blue with the Oyster/White seats with a selection of the usual other bits.

Hi there Gary!

It's Andrew from ExotiCARe!

Congrats on the new McLaren!

I'm one of the new site sponsors. Just wanted to introduce myself, as well as my new MP4-12C Accessories store.

MP4Parts.com

I've got a few goodies for the MP4 already!
Front License Plate bracket, Billet Aluminum Foot Rest, and some really high quality Alcantara Customized Floor mats for the car. Fully customizable! (Including RHD!)

I have a few more items coming down the pipeline in the next weeks! Let me know if any interest in the items! I can give a package deal for multiple items.

Here to help any time!

Andrew

Thanks for the welcome Andrew, I've been lurking and researching for a while and saw your products..
Certainly give it some thought in the future.

Typically my first full day of ownership and it's a bit wet in the British sense!!
Hopefully out with the camera tonight to try and get some arty shots to keep as a momento
Although if it stays this wet I'll leave it for another night..

So far just the usual angles you guys know...

The last one just shows the wrap fitted yesterday by paintshield, very happy with the results and pleased the dealership pointed out the covering on the rear panel.

I spent a fair bit of time looking over the display at Wilton House this year, I was there with the Porsche club and thought it was a great event with excellent media coverage for Mclaren

Sorry, still new to the terms and descriptions
Between the door and rear wheel and on the turning vanes, apparently that was where their demonstator was getting quite a few stone chips.
Tom has a pattern for those areas, so must be aware of it.

Well the sun did shine on Saturday and I managed to get a hundred miles squeezed into the run in period, very happy so far..
It really doesn't like pot holes and some rattles from the dash- feels like a proper hand built thing!

Weather looks good for next weekend, so heading to Cornwall and Bristol to put some gentle miles on.

Tasty. Pot holes and bumps generally sound worse than they actually are as the tub is so stiff and transmits a lot back through seat of pants. Enjoy the run in!

Well Saturday did turn out to be wonderful sunny day and pleased I made the effort to stick some miles on the car.
The SW was apart from one huge queue into towards Minehead reasonably quiet on the roads, meaning that I got to learn quite a bit about the car.
Really pleased that I was aware of the sounds being worse than any previous car via this forum otherwise I think I'd of been a bit worried- although it still worries my better half who thinks it sounds like a kit car going over pot holes and cats eyes

The roads around Porlock were great fun and spent the time in the company of some of my old club members

We stopped overnight at a lovely place called Northcote Manor, although some of the worst speed bumps I'veever come across to get to the parking!!
However it was out in the sticks and made for a peaceful getaway- until I started up next morning :D

Clicked over 750miles on the way back via the Fosse way and had a hoon of a time, the car really does cover ground like nothing I've owned so far... although the gearbox selection is a bit strange sometimes..
I have ran in auto for the majority of the run in period to keep the revs below 5K and hope that this investment will give me a reliable motor in the future.

Just seeing what happens within the UK scene at the moment..?
Coming from Porsche it does seem very quiet but then again we are heading towards winter.?

Robbie, your back, missed you. Have you got your James Bond chariot yet? Let's see some pics including the interior.

I'll have you know that I have discovered paddles both side of my steering wheel but they don't work as I always make the mistake of pressing the 'Engine Start' button rather than the one below.......deploy machine guns....
