Its all about to kick of in OZ :D:D

What are your thoughts and predictions ?
I think McLaren will be very strong. In particular, I believe Button may challenge for the WDC. Would love for Lewis to get back to top form, as well.

Watched the last bit of Prac 1. The Ferrari looks like it is tough to handle. Merc looks great, no read on Red Bull yet.

So yeah, I'll venture to take McLaren for the Constructors and Button for the WDC. That's how I've picked them for my F1 pool, anyway.

You?

HRT to come last !:D:D:D

Mclaren looked good in first practice as did Merc. Hard to tell if teams are carring fuel or going for times.

I think A Mclaren a Red Bull and a Mercedes on the podium, but which on and what order to close to tell. ( if thats not sitting on the fence i dont know what is:rolleyes:)

Very solid start for the team. The fact that both Lewis and Jenson were able to top the field (and similar lap time) makes me think the car is very well rounded as it accommodates both of their driving styles.

Also, Whitmarsh's statements during the pre-race interview supporting Whiting's ruling on Merc f-duct leads me to believe that McLaren also has a similar device in development. That would be excellent as the Merc trap speeds were consistently highest.

Looking fwd to the race.

Sky Sports pre-race coverage kicks off in 15 minutes. Very excited for this season - McLaren look very strong and it is great to see Michael back on form too.

Too bad about the double pit stop followed by the safety car- Lewis deserved 2nd place today. What an amazing race by Jenson; the whole team must be proud of the final result. Red Bull is definitely right there, though. Still wonder how Lotus would have fared under better circumstances?

Safety car made a mockery of the race.

Surely places should be set as safety car deployed, not when they pass the start/finish line after its deployment.

Lewis robbed of second and Kimi demoted form a brilliant sixth (from seventeen) to tenth. Gained a few places on last lap though.

Big, big, congrats to Jenson. Incredible pace throughout and thoroughly deserved win.

What was Sky coverage like?

Had to make do with BBC and having to avoid all news bulletins (and Mclaren Life) for six hours!

How do you get the sky coverage in the US/Canada ?.
Speed Channels race coverage is very good, but we don't get lot of the build up or many interviews.

Race was good, Mac looked strong and Button totally in control, Lewis looked really pissed off at the end. I agree the safety car rules need some tweaking to make it a bit better, but I'm sure the FIA would argue its the same for everyone. Until the safety car causes Ferrari to loose a race, then they will change them

I watched the Sky F1 coverage via an online stream. PM me ahead of next week's race and I'll try to get you a link.

I use a VPN client that makes it appear I am in the UK to watch stuff on the BBC iPlayer.

Well the 2nd Race in Malaysia was quite disappointing. Hopefully everybody has seen it by now. The only good news was that WE(McLaren) scored more points that RB. Otherwise.... It sucked! Ferrari winning, JB taking himself out with the crash, the Pit crew doing a pitiful job on changing tires on LH's car!! They looked like they had never done it before in the rain!

To be fair to the crew, Lewis missed his marks by a good foot or so when he came in for that stop which causes them all to have to shift their positions to compensate. The rear jack man had the biggest struggle with it. Defintely a shame the way it ruined his race.
