Using Rosso for the launch promo is a mistake:rolleyes:
Here's mine anyway:

Went with the new wheel in a Diamond Cut finish and good luck keeping the leather white, I know. :D

ER
Almost identical to what I made mine, except for the black interior (for me) and body coloured front lip.

I don't get why have not released ANY pictures of their new colour yet...
Have to say, it's a much better looking car than I thought it would be. Those Volcano Red pics on GT Spirit are stunning.
Looks good to me !!!

AS said, there will be customer cars out this year already

Not convinced myself, especially the rear view and the split in the room when raised (as on most days in the UK!).

Is this a functioning IRIS?

I was told on friday that they had the first functioning Iris late last year, they are just ironing out the bugs as this will be updateable by bluetooth so it has to last them as few years.

As for the price difference its £19k on top of the new 2013 coupe price.

Agreed the split roof is unfortunate, perhaps a compromise to keep the partial glass engine cover? Anyway, could live with it, especially in a darker colour and besides there will be no UK buyers for the Spider!

No extra bracing req'd and only 40 additional KG is quite impressive. Should be a very sharp-handling drop-top. Yes, I'm impressed, perhaps because I was expecting to be disappointed.

p.s. the new wheel design is nice - probably even nicer in a non-bling finish.
lol, my spec is pretty identical to Peloton and ScottishXJ220 - love the Azure Blue.

Alas, no spider for me. Saving my pennies for P12.
Just realised i cant have a spyder,i use my parcel self too much, and where would RIC put his MSO coffee machine???:D

But i must say it keeps the lines of the car very well!

Yes I'm glad they decided to stay with clean and elegant, was a bit worried they would go boy-racer, based on some of the competitive offerings. This design should age very well.

I'm sure they'll hack one (or 5) up for Mr. HS tho!

not sure a spider would look right with louvred front wings heh... not even sure the black roof from mso would look quite right on the spider with the smaller roof panel... i guess its cos it looks so cool on the coupe though...
Not liking that in anyway ! from the front and rear looks good, but from the side or rear quarter those big roll hoop/roof cover buttresses look hideous. I know they need to be there for safety, but Mclaren made the SLR convertible much cleaner and sleeker, coupe for me.

andy,

52 litres of space under the tonneau with the roof up...
that's plenty of bitter ...

and you get luggage to go in there thrown in...

am sure the bepsoke luggage justifies half of the price increment over the coupe..

What happens when you have the 52 litres filled up with luggage and you want the roof down?:D
But as the luggage in the front is £4k,then you are not far off if its in the same CF,all together win/win
