From perusing Chris Harris' twitter posts, it seems he had a 12C for the past few days. Anybody know if it was a car supplied by McLaren, or did he borrow a friend's car.....?

In any case, among other things, he called the car "endlessly interesting" and upon giving it back said "Desperately sad to say goodbye to McLaren. If ever you needed to spend time with a car - that's the one."

Sounds like he just may have had his first 12C "owner impressions!" :)

More:

"What an extraordinary car. Long journey, rain, spray, greasy roads. Easy."

"It's a remarkable machine. Drove home, went out for dins, now trying to understand it. Complex, fascinating machine."

Nice to know he is going through the same thought process as the rest of us who have taken delivery. Perhaps the definition of a thinking man's supercar.

Fire Black, I think.

Not sure if its been loaned to pistonheads the british internet site for whom Chris has been writing lately, there is a small piece about him taking over a MORGAN after using the 12c,but as of yet i cannot find anything he has written about it on this site.
Seems strange, but maybe its a article he is putting together, unless anyone else knows something??????

That's PP11 based on the plate so definitely Fire Black and he may have to temper some comments a bit given it is a well exercised prototype.

Oh! Good ol PP11. Didn't recognize her with standard finish wheels. It was PP11 pics that made me decide on black. He'll be even more sad to know at EOL, she'll be destroyed. :(

p.s. 15K on the Odo:

Noticed the fuel gauge reads nearly full and range at 185 to empty at 5mph.........that's a poor range, stopping every 170 miles for 15 minute fill up and 20 minute chat to gawpers.

Makes the car slower point to point than diesel Fiesta.......now what's the range of a 458......

Best ive had is 230 miles to empty, but when i filled up i only got 52 ltrs in,so its one big reserve (72ltr tank i think),its early so i will let you do the maths, that was driving over to Manchester to see the MSO car,and i had a hell of a head wind, the gauge read 28.1 mpg,im pretty sure a reading never before seen on any italian exotic:cool::)
