After 9 months of waiting... my new MSO CF bonnet came in for my 720S. I plan to upgrade from the standard bonnet with CF inserts. But they just realized at my local dealer that they forgot to order a badge for it. I currently have a silver badge with a CF background, (Pic attached). Any ideas about a different badge via MSO or other? It would likely be a shame to put a stock badge on this bonnet but would like some thoughts.

My car is Silica White with all black interior, black stealth wheels and red calipers.

the other MSO badges are extremely expensive if you talk about original MSO ones ... most are made of precious metal (Gold/ white Gold or Platinum) and or layered cf ... expect to pay between 25-80k usd for one and they probably won't sell you one unless you own a ELVA or Speedtail ... than there is the lightweight badge but thats is integrated in the visible cf bonnet on the 765LT and the old red one of the cars before 2018 (that one I would not use bc it makes your car look older than it actually is as it was only used in the first year on the 720s)

Hey, I purposely chose "the old red one" to put on my 2020 to keep with the red-theme....red calipers, red "S" on the 720 badges, red seat belts, red contrast stitching, red led lighting in engine bay, etc...I even almost (but didn't) bought one of the older air bags that have the red swoosh just to keep continuity with the red accent theme :)

Of course a personal choice if you do it intentionally … however if only done without knowledge about the different versions it makes your car a first year 720s lookwise, maybe without wanting that …

Agree. And for that same reason I was utterly disappointed with McLaren MSO at HQ when told me that I could 'only' use 24k gold foil to line my engine bay and refused my (what I thought was) reasonable request for elvish Mithril... I mean we all know of it's reputation for being lightweight, exotic, heat-resistant, super-rare, and durable. And they always say "MSO will do ANYTHING"...

I also wanted to do the same, my dealer said why do you want your new car to look like a 5 year old car ?
i had to agree with him especially as we (in the UK anyway almost always have a personal plate fitted)

You'd be asking for trouble with Mithril though, the dwarfs would be continually trying to repossess your car.

Because it looks better? Many styling changes are just for the sake of change anyway, they often don't look any better than what came before.

Excuse the word, but that is retarded. I can glue a troy ounce of gold to the hood for $2,146 based on today's gold price and that is 1 ounce of solid 24k gold...
Well with the badges you at least get some gold ...with the gold heat shields that stuff is probably only a micron thick coating

And if you thought you had problems when your turbos sucked in your inlet pipes, wait until you suck in a dwarf or two...at the very least you will pop a cel light or two and your cats will smell for a week
