Wow !! Yes it’s from Scottsdale! What a great spec your 765LT is , amazing !!
Thanks for sharing the information. Yes, I definitely, have some initial pause of if I floor below 5000rpm especially from a standstill. No engine lights and the car haul’s ass once the turbos kick in. I’ve driven my friends 765 and I’d say the power is similar. I just wasn’t sure about the lag.
Thank you. Now you have some history on the color.

The Scottsdale guys are good guys. If their is an issue, they will address it. if you are local in town- let me know- can connect.

This is my original 765 Spider- Dove Spark with blue interior. See how the blue flake complements the blue interior.

WOW! That is unreal. What an absolute beaut.

Do you have some sort of art background? You have shared a couple of colors with us now that are really amazing. I do not have an artistic bone in my body, and I am just floored when I see combinations like this. Not only does everything flow so well, but the grey with a touch of blue fleck(?) is, I don't know, maybe my favorite now that I have seen. That and @aorta blue cf.

This is coming from a guy who has spec'd his previous 7 cars black/black to give you an idea of how my brain works.

Thank you for taking the time to share the background and photos. What a great color and story behind your car and now OP's 750 as well. Love it

I appreciate it very much. Have zero art background although my daughter is an artist so maybe I have some hidden artistic bones in my body?

I just love to design things. I think I have a good knack for color and congruency. I like to have things match and flow. Have specced Ferraris, Porsches and my favorite is obviously Mclaren. We have done two MSO colors- the first one is Dove Spark above- originally I had requested the name Paradise Gray as we live in Paradise Valley but MSO selected the name Dove Spark cause it has the same flake as Papaya Spark.

The second color was my 750 Meena Maroon- named after my wife. We did a faded carbon hood and wing with Meena Maroon covering the entire car. Turned out great and I love the color.

It's a fun process. I enjoy it tremendously. and thank you for the compliments.

I’ve owned two McLaren’s before but it’s been a while . 2018 720S was my last one. I’ve owned Ferraris with the last one being an F8, Lamborghinis with the last one being a Performante and many other cars. I understand the difference between near instant throttle response in a NA engine like my GT3 vs forced induction. Guess I was wondering from the forum members if this “lag” is normal , if it’ll get better with breaking in or of I potentially have an issue.
Thx
Again, not lag. The throttle response on a NA engine depends on the torque curve, just like a turbo engine, it depends how much torque it's making at 2000rpm. Porsche engines tend to have a lot of low end torque and therefore "feel" better when you hit the gas. Compare with something like a Honda S2000, which feels laggy as hell until you rev the pants off it.

@howcarguy If you decide to sell this car, please let me know via PM first if you remember.

@Michaelj Yes, I can see where your daughter gets it from. Or maybe she passed it up to you one day :)
The house also looks very nice! I'm not sure of your level of input on that, but I am sure you were not an idle passenger. It doesn't feel like that long ago you were sharing progress updates on FChat... Thanks again for sharing, and I look forward to whichever color you create next.

The house was a massive project that took over 3 years of construction. Super happy our home and only reason we decided to build it was to have a better garage. lol. Appreciate the nice words.

OP- can you please confirm what mode you are driving the car in?
I’ve driven the car in comfort , sport and track with and without manual and dynamic mode. Only seems to have lag if I floor it at a low rpm. Otherwise, the power comes on strong. I’m going to try launching it once I have a few more hundred miles one it. Overall , it’s an amazing car !!!

I literally just got the car two weeks ago and so far I really like it a lot. If and when I decide to sell it, I’ll certainly let you know but right now it’s not in my immediate plans.

I agree the Scottsdale guys are really good people. Unfortunately, I’m not local (from Michigan) but next time I’m in Arizona I’ll definitely let you know. Thanks for the background information and great job with the mso color!!!

absolutely sick color !! Meena Maroon is awesome! So cool McLaren gives us the latitude to build what we want unlike so many other manufacturers…

The only cars with zero lag are
an EV. Fixed that for you. As a Plaid owner everything is laggy from a relative standpoint.

In all seriousness the 720/750/765 have a little low end lag until the turbo kick in. Car will move but won't really wake up until over 3,000 rpms.

I owned a Plaid . Tons of linear torque and zero lag that I noticed. Again, not trying to compare the McLaren to an EV just wanted a gauge of what was normal.

It depends on what you're use to. Before getting a Ferrari 488 and 750S I was driving a 2014 Jaguar XKR with a stock supercharger, around 490lbs torque and 510hp. The torque kicked in instantly, and low in the rpms, 2,000. Compared to the turbo 488 and 750S the Jaguar would put you back in the seat instantly from just tapping the throttle. I miss this in the 488 and 750S. However, the performance of 488 and 750S cannot be matched otherwise.

Yup it's pretty much how the drivetrain is optimized. I'm not saying the turbos are "big" in the McLaren cars but they behave like a "big turbo" car. Not much down low, decent mid range, and holy crap top end. Most OEM go for that low end grunt because general public usually don't like to push the RPMs on their cars and they can go WOW look at that kick in the butt when I barely press the throttle. Most OEM turbo cars and even SC ones have low end oomph, an okay mid range, and just as a gentle plateau of power up top as the tiny turbos or efficiency of the blower is just not there to push any meaningful air.
