Noticed this - an indicator of things to come at McLaren perhaps, (a 720 replacement?)
“A P2.5 hybrid topology has been de- signed, moving the motor to the rear
of the transmission, and connecting the drive via the 7th gear of the transmission, FIGURE 6. Performance has been simulated with an e-motor output of 300 kW maxi- mum. The P2.5 layout enables a power split to deliver very high combined torque levels from the combustion engine and the electric motor. This concept builds on the existing H8-DCT-850 design and highlights the potential flexibility for the future.”

I thought Ricardo was responsible for the gearbox though? Or are they primarily manufacturing it. I believe Ricardo is are also responsible for the Valkyrie gearbox, perhaps there is something to the shared reliability problems.

One interesting thing to note is that while both the 296 and Artura have the motor connected to a clutch between the engine and transmission, the motor and clutch are bolted to the inside of the gearbox which then bolts on to the engine on the Artura vs as a direct load bearing assembly in between the clutch like on the 296.

Laferrari already did it?

They were with the other models, but they went with Hofer for the Artura. Supposedly they are better with hybrid powertrains. I'm not sure if there's any truth to that.
