Anybody from here going to be at the Pebble Beach event friday night?
Yes.... I will be there...Anybody from here going to be at the Pebble Beach event friday night?
Whats different over the std 12c and this, its a long time till saturday??I was in the tent today for a preview shoot for Teamspeed with another photographer. They have a special 12C that is not the GT3 that might interest this crowd. I took a lot of photos as did my cohort who is much more a professional photographer, but they are embargoed until tomorrow so I can't share yet.
I will be back at the tent tomorrow afternoon for one of the discussion events and will snap a couple of pics then to share via my phone if I have the time. Otherwise I am sure by tomorrow evening there will be quite a few images circulating in other locations.
I don't have a pass yet for the Friday evening event and their PR gal said she couldn't put "Media" on the list as she'd turned down several other requests. I tried to argue that I was not "Media" but rather an adoring fanand while she felt bad about it she couldn't bend the rules for me.
I did get to see my 13th McLaren F1 today - chassis #036. Met the owner at his home and spent about an hour with the car. As you can see, it is quite lovely!

Thanks looking forward to tonight then!I really can't say at this point as we were sworn to secrecy. I can say tomorrow - which for me is Friday since it is still 11pm on Thursday here, but it will be 8 or 9 PM your time on Friday when I get back to the tent and can snap phone pics to share.
So that it doesn't drive you bonkers, it's not a totally different car, but there are things about it that are different.
Keep in mind that I am very familiar with all of the options currently available for the 12C so this is more than just a full-spec car. It's "special".

Thanks Peloton25,i would suspect most of the early customers would have had these carbon options, much nicer than the front and rear splitter as its something thats going to be seen more, and the plastic looks too cheap for a car at this level.Sleep is over rated and it's technically "tomorrow" here now, right?
Allow me to direct your attention this way:

Well our car starts at $229,000 USD if that helps in figuring the numbers. I took it to mean that the optional paint and exterior extras that are visible on the car would add about $50,000 to the price. If you went all out in the interior expect that would raise the number even more. Its interesting that the total price is only $270k,cheap in the uk,but i suspect thats for the base car?
To be honest, at first glance the car looked a bit after-market or tuner to me. I think it is the wheels and ultra low profile tires. But I'm going to let it sit and see what other photos look like. Wish I could see it in the flesh to have a more informed opinion. They should've used louvers like the GT3 car has, not those ones that look like a gimmick. Set into the fender like the GT3 car looks a whole lot cleaner and really works with the car whilst those just look like add-ons IMO.
look like 235/35 z20 so 1inch bigger than standard at the frontYes, perhaps on the roof. You could always get it wrapped pretty easily too that way if you change your mind over time it can come right off.
I don't believe the wheels are larger - I will verify today.

Wheels are not larger. It is the diamond cut face and black wheel centers that give that impression.look like 235/35 z20 so 1inch bigger than standard at the front
DITTO. looks way more integrated on the race carThey should've used louvers like the GT3 car has, not those ones that look like a gimmick. Set into the fender like the GT3 car looks a whole lot cleaner and really works with the car whilst those just look like add-ons IMO.
Not to mention on the race car they're actually functional and designed to work well.DITTO. looks way more integrated on the race car![]()
