Does anybody know if the McLaren dealership on Wilshire is open? If so, do they have a 12C in the showroom that you can have a close look at? I'm in LA this weekend and I want to stop by if they have a car on the floor.

Not open officially yet and they won't have their 12C demonstrators for a few more weeks so no cars on the showroom floor at the moment.

They do have their F1 car - a 2006 MP4-21 driven by Kimi Raikkonen.

They must be pretty close if they have the F1 car on the floor.
I was told demo's at the end of November, but that was a while ago, not sure if thats still on schedule.
Joe Van DeVeer is the sales manager, and you cannot find a more infections and knowledgeable honest guy.

My bet... from inside the dealership.

Well I am normally fairly resourceful, but that one was borrowed from the McLaren Beverly Hills Facebook page.

I thought maybe you had been camping out waiting :D:D
They should send that car to the next 12C-458 comparison and say it's stock.
Thanks for the quick response guys!
If you can make it to San Francisco (well really Palo Alto) they have the 12C prototypes hanging around still, along with something very special. :)

Huge thanks to HyperMac954 for making sure they knew I was coming. :)

Wow... any one from McLaren SF on here? I'm guessing it's by appointment?
Actually the showroom is kind of open now. The sales manager said they are there everyday and should have their own demo cars soon to take the place of the prototype in the showroom. The Volcano Red 12C was also there yesterday. I forgot to ask him when they are leaving, but I suspect they might remain until his own cars arrive.

They already have their rolling chassis of the 12C as well. Looks great with the McLaren Orange brake calipers.

I'm betting they'll be around through Thanksgiving for the SF Auto Show (which has a 12C on the main page) - this was the last stop on the US test drive tour.
Sheesh, I was just in SFO and in Palo Alto briefly a couple of weeks ago and didn't think to go there.

You didn't miss anything. The cars arrived last Tuesday.
Here are the remainder of my photos from my stop at McLaren SF.

The goofy guy posing in some of my shots is my boss's son who came along with me on the trip. This was his very first time seeing a McLaren F1 in real life so he was quite enthused and I was thrilled that he got to see all the details after listening to me talk about them for so long.

It belongs to Tom Price - he also owns the McLaren San Francisco franchise so it is safe to assume the F1 will be on semi-permanent display there.
