There's a very real upper limit on price for a track-only car since you can literally buy super high-end race cars. Heck, you can even buy old F1 cars.

This car has to be road legal, otherwise what's the point?

only real to some people, others will pay whatever they wish, for what they want/like/can afford and still enjoy their life.

It is much easier for companies like VAG and Mercedes to produce a new custom street car than for a McLaren to do so. It seems like MB introduce more new models a year than McLaren has made in their lifetime. They have massive global resources at their disposal so they can brute-force approvals, afford extra crash testing, and pull from their incredible parts bins. Even Ferrari now typically won’t deviate from the road cars very much for their custom cars. Eric Clapton’s car for example, except for typical custom interior materials and colors (no different than what MSO would offer) over a completely normal 458 interior, is mechanically a bone stock 458 underneath it’s custom skin. And it’s really just a custom skin. I’d bet even the glass is still stock 458.

Only if McLaren make a road version. Otherwise it's no real competitor to Valkyrie.

I'd bet on the Valkyrie being quicker anyway, given the extreme engineering and aero approach being taken for it.

No idea for the moment there is no "concrete" rumor but given the number of copies and the exclusivity of this model it would be possible.

One really interesting thing about this project is that at the beginning there were only 5 copies, but the original owners abandoned the project for some reason.
