McLaren Charlotte - good dealer to buy from?

Long time lurker looking to buy a 720s spider, is McLaren Charlotte a good dealer to buy from?

I am looking for a stock, unmolested car.

720s spider's have been selling like hot cakes in Florida, seven in the last few weeks!

That is where I bought my 720S - no issues good to deal with, etc. I also stay in contact with them on the next iteration coming out - talk to Darius. Feel free to say I referred you...

If you say anything bad they'll send you a cease and desist. That being said, I wouldn't recommend them and if you want a stock, unmolested car, you better get a PPI they won't let you do to verify it because they lie. Make sure the odometer in the cluster matches the odometer on the body too. Yeah, the mileage is stored in more than 1 place. On a related note, if you've found my statements to be accurate to your own situation, feel free to contact me so I can add you to the list.

Oh Wow!
Don't just take it from me, there are active lawsuits against them right now. That's as much as I can say at the moment.

Yup, while I personally haven’t used them, I have heard not so great things about them as well, from multiple sources. Just do your due dilligence, get a PPI from Dalton or Kevin, since Sean isn’t allowed back there, and always err on the side of caution. There are a lot of clean 720’s for sale from a lot of places other than Charlotte if you find them questionable.

No no, I don't think you understand. The PPI thing isn't me, it's they don't allow them period. I have messages from their own sales people stating that there are no outside PPI's allowed. There isn't a "back there" because they never let me do anything there to start with, and they aren't keen on pointing out them trying to rip people off on video.

I’ve bought 4 cars from them and had nothing but an amazing experience. I did plenty of due diligence before purchasing from them and as an attorney for almost 3 decades I had no concerns whatsoever. (I’ve bought from lots of other dealships too and nothing bad to say about those either.)

Oh, my bad. I thought you got your peepee smacked and wasn’t allowed back.

No, that was the guy specifically butthurt about his own car, which is why he took it to Charlotte to say his un-repaired salvage car was "good to go". You may recall that here How does McLaren Charlotte give a 720s with a cracked...

Bought a 2021 720S from them - treated me fairly and love the car, was everything they said it was.

Yes, now I remember!
Their refusal to allow McMedics to perform a PPI on-site was a non-starter for me last year for a 600LT. Meh, lots of other good dealers out there. I bought elsewhere. :) 🤡

My experience in 2021(Q3) on a new Mac was poor basic follow-up and missed timelines multiple times by the sales person. I had to contact the General Manager who helped update me on the status of my car pre delivery preparation, accessory installation and shipping. Also two cars I originally called about, were on their website and not at their dealership. One was in California and it led me to think they were using some ads as click-bait.

Saying alot with saying not much, you may be onto something and it isn't click bait.

Hypothetically, they could be renting out their inventory cars on the sly while they are in "inventory." Buyers of those cars would have no idea as to their rental history. This is all speaking hypothetically of course.

Allegedly you know how to choose wording to avoid legal action when stating things you know.

Another hypothetical would be floor planning cars they don't have to get money from them. But who would do that besides CNC Motors....

Or Excell Auto Group...
