McLaren challenge series?

Has anyone heard whether McLaren intends to launch a series similar to the Ferrari challenge? If so, will the cars be based on the current GT3 racer or something closer to the production car?

No word that I know of. I imagine that if it was a pure 12C spec series that it would be a combination of the two cars with an eye towards costs.

Anyone here know what the story was behind this little coordinated display of force at Goodwood last week?

Could be the fleet for the Pure McLaren Driving Program I posted in another thread.
Well that would make sense - I missed that post thanks to the new format here.

I searched the board and used google but could not find any information on this "Pure McLaren Driving Program". Would you mind sharing some details about this ?

I'm looking for a way to drive the 12c on-track before making my purchase decision. Driving around town with the dealer next to me just won't do it for me

McLaren has a series of 2 day events this year. First day is a factory tour. 2nd day is a track day with the 12c's.

Thank you very much, sounds perfect. Where can I book this? Trough dealer only or directly via McLaren?

Your dealer can reserve a spot for you.
The info is in the Owners subsection. It is a bit pricey for what it is, IMHO.

Really? I was thinking it is a screaming deal, actually. 2 full days of activities at MTC/MPC and Goodwood, with a chartered flight between and on-track instruction from McLaren test drivers. A 2 day driving program at Ferrari is 3 to 4 times the price and their instructors are not factory guys. (they're awesome racers, but they are freelance hires only for the FNA program)

Edit- just looked at the pricing again, make that 4-5 TIMES the price for an equivalent program at Ferrari.

Who knew we had an Owner's subsection?

I guess it was needed since this place is crawling with McLaren spies. ;)

Anyway - I only own one of these so I guess that isn't going to get me access. :(

I agree with Hyper, because while it spans two days, it is really only about 26 hours, part of which is flying to Goodwood and part of which is sleeping. :)

I've attached the flyer so you can decide for yourself.

Yeah - it's pretty cool! :)

I got mine from Target but you can snag one through Amazon with just a few clicks:

I got one of those as well. An inexpensive way to try on some MSO options!
