Something to think about for those in the market for a second-hand 12C.

With McLaren’s line of supercars having been on the market for almost two years now, it’s only natural used examples, or “pre-owned” as they are referred to in the business, are available.

To make sure any potential new customers are looked after, especially those new to supercar ownership, McLaren has launched a certified pre-owned program.

Called Qualified, the program makes entry to the world of McLaren ownership simpler and provides the peace of mind that each and every vehicle has been checked by a fully trained technician.

Using a similar process to that undertaken at the factory when the cars are first built, McLaren technicians complete a comprehensive bumper-to-bumper qualification check before allowing any used examples to be included in the program.

Because of the extensive checks, McLaren can offer customers of the Qualified pre-owned cars a minimum of two years / unlimited mileage factory warranty, covering parts and repairs, and two years of McLaren roadside assistance.

But there are other benefits to the program. It also guarantees that cars are upgraded to the latest specification, when and if these are announced by the factory and the previous owner did not take advantage.

In addition, buying a McLaren through the program allows owners to add some extra features offered through McLaren’s own personalization program, McLaren Special Operations (MSO). To entice any newcomers, McLaren is offering preferential rates on its MSO upgrades up to four weeks from delivery.

I checked the page for all the North American dealers - currently only Greenwich, San Francisco and Toronto show available cars under this program.

Well you know that's great to hear, it just goes to show that McLaren is adapting to what the market needs and demands. It should also have an impact on the price that these cars will be selling for as well, which could be more favorable for us current owners. ??

The value added CPO supports dealers vs brokers.

A dealer now has a much needed sales tool which will push buyers to dealerships vs brokers who can't service the sale.

Dealer pricing vs broker pricing will also help residuals.
