So after a week of ownership it is VERY apparent that I need a good detector setup. I'm thinking about the V1 gen 2...what is everybody running and how do you like it? Please post pics of your setup so I can get some ideas for mounting. Thanks!

Getting PPF right now so can post a pic but I am running a Uniden R7 with a blendmount. I have a blendmount in every car and move the R7 around as I drive them. My 12C had a passport 9500Ci installed by the original owner. I also ran my R7 in my 12C and my R7 would pick up Ka (used heavily in CA) that the passport never did. Not sure if there was something wrong with the passport as it would go off quite a bit but the R7 was especially good at picking up longer ranges. Plus with a setup like the blendmount, I can move it from car to car vs spending a ton on 1 install.

MUST HAVE:

Radenso RC M (front and rear RADAR)
+
AL Priority (front and rear LASER JAMMER)

This is hands down THE BEST combined system available - Basically the AL Priority system can jam ANY laser speed detection device currently made (Even the mighty DRAGON EYE!)

If you are unfamiliar with any of these please do a bit of research and you will be enlightened guaranteed!

Also,
If you live close to the Atlanta GA area, my shop AutoXperts is an authorized dealer and installer, plus all McLife Members receive a very deep discount. :)

Good to know the blendmount works well.

I used to live in ATL and would certainly get you to do the install but I'm in FL now...

Cost wise the R7 is available for 449 off Amazon right now and you are looking at about 150 shipped for a blendmount. I have no experience with the Radenso brand but have used the Passport 9500Ci and K40 RL360 in prior cars where the original owner had those installed. My only feedback is that while they are trick installs I was never fully confident in their detection. The R7 would pick up a lot more and was better at avoiding things like radar based cruise control and collision avoidance. The passport and K40 were a few years old and I am sure new models would be better at some things. Lastly, I am generally pretty tame with my driving, especially in the city. My focus is more freeway specific so longer detection is more important than jamming. My usual routes within CA rarely have laser and that's only ever been in the city so I want to be able to detect out as far as possible on the freeway. So for my situation this is a good enough setup but others may have different experiences.

The 600LT I just bought has the Escort Passport Max Ci 360 integrated radar detector and some laser jammers front and rear (don't know which jammers specifically). There is an integrated display for everything in the rear view mirror. I haven't had time to really look at the system or get any pictures, but I will try and see if I can this weekend and post some things up once I know more.

I have a Passport that's let me down a few times in the canyons, but my Valentine V1 is superb. Tried it out for the first time in several years, and it was brilliant. Now working on a good install/mount.

Same set up. The Bendmount power tap is not hard to do.

Ok so a little update...I decided to go with the V1 Gen 2. Just got it last night and installed today. Have not driven with it yet so cannot comment on the performance but I had the Gen 1 for about 15 years and it saved me more times than I can count.

For the mirror mount I went with one designed for a corvette and sold by Zip products. It mounts with 3m adhesive so it remains to be seen how that will hold up but I had one of these same mounts on a corvette years ago and it never fell off in 4 years of use. It's about $40 so I think the risk is worth it vs the $140 blendmount. Time will tell...

I bought a power tap off ebay for about $14 and tapped into one of the plugs for the rear view mirror. The info is already out there but the plug has one brown wire and two yellow wires. The negative goes to the brown wire and the positive to the outside yellow wire. I did slightly enlarge one of the holes on the mirrow bracket cover in order to fit the power cable through. You wouldn't see it if you weren't specifically looking and I'm sure this piece wouldn't cost too much to replace if I really had to.

All in probably took me 30 mins to install and I'me very happy with the clean look!

Nice set up. Not seen passing through a hole, I just let it be pinched it a bit where the two halves of the cover come together.
