If I am getting it correctly from the Sport Auto Super Test data, the 458 they put on the scale had a whole raft of carbon extras fitted (at HUGE expense) including the sports seats with carbon kit

Anyway there is not ONE discipline where the Italia beats the GT2RS.

The distance between the SLS and the GT2RS is roughly the same as with the Car test.

The Italia sheds a LOT of weight compared with the Sport Auto 458 already fitted with sport seats with carbon kit and all of a sudden is faster than the GT2RS.

Go figure

That's clearly a ringer and standard operating procedure for Ferrari. The problem is that McLAren cannot compete with a Lambo cab on track. I don't know what to call it, since disappointment is just not the word.

Probably, although McLaren as masters of traction/stability systems in F1 (they supply ECU's to all the other teams), should know a thing or two how to turn a protective nanny into a driver's aid. Ferrari clearly does it, McLaren should be even better at it.

More than that, they knew the STig would test, they should have provided car with the nannies off (there is supposedly a secret code). Now, they look like incompetent idiots.

You're so dramatic! You really think the hydraulics was an excuse and the 12C can't do a 1:28 flat, given the acceleration numbers? Man, maybe you should just give up on the 12C- you'll never, ever be satisfied.

The way I see it, the 12C is fastest in EVO by .3 over the RS and fastest in CAR by .8 over the RS. That's 2 for 2 and pretty much the fastest regular series production car with 2 doors and roof ever, exactly as McLaren claimed. TG, Sport Auto and the Ring times still to come, but I'm feeling the Mac will make it a clean sweep.

Maybe they saw how he was all elbows ham-fisting the other cars round the circuit and figured he'd do better with them on. I bet Goodwin was just shaking his head watching those onboard vids.

Go with the 2RS, then. Or perhaps the 3RS 4.0. I think these cars will be the least likely to disappoint you. Reliable and fast. Slower than the 12C, mind, but still very, very quick.

I know what you are saying, and I enjoy tracking Porsches, too, but mid-engined cars are the best. I loved my scud, but it is too harsh for a DD. Italia is too heavy and dull feeling on the track. I really had high hopes for McLaren.
