First information :

Lamborghini LB48H will be the Italian brand’s first hybrid Hypercar.

A prototype was showcased at a private event in Italy a few weeks ago.

Its a precursor to the Aventador replacement.

In terms of styling, the LB48H borrows design cues from the Terzo Millennio concept.

While, 200 prospective clients attended the event, it is believed that only 63 units of the Lamborghini LB48H will be built.

Production will start by end-2018 and deliveries are expected in the latter half of 2019.

It is likely to cost around $2.5 million before taxes.

They are going to use the 918's hybrid and use it on this setup. This will essentially be what Aventador's replacement will use. NA V12 engine with electric assist to make 850+hp.

I was at the debut in NY and placed a deposit.

It's 789 NA hp with a 49 hp gear regen that will never lose power - nothing like the 918.

The AV replacement at best get the J 770 hp and it's years away.

A question and weight level? Currently the SVJ has 1525 kg dry.

The last I heard, the electric assist is equivalent to 35PS (not 49HP), with the extra weight of the electrical stuff being 35 kilos.

Not that I care about the performance much, but that's really lame. What could that 35hp electric hp really accomplish?

I'm guessing they realized they were only able to sell so many "just body kits" and needed something new to entice buyers of multi-million dollar cars. Still, it's a heck of a better deal than stuff like the Veneno and Centenario.

They are keeping the NA V12 adding hp with minimal weight.

Lamborghini keeping with heritage is anything but disappointing to their customers.
For 2 million dollars or whatever they're charging for this, that is insanely lame. Valkyrie is providing far more power for far less weight. A 4 year old LaFerrari makes more power

You could not be more wrong - every new LE introduces a new technology and it's passed down to the road cars. Admit Lamborghini makes a busy looking car but pretty sure they didn't ask you to buy one :)

Lamborghini is producing fast cars and will continue with the money coming in from the SUV.

I'm pretty sure it's 49 added hp and a whopper V12.

Valkyrie requires 600k more and is about as usable as a BAC.

The Cosworth engine and parts is going to be eye watering to maintain as will the Merc - love them all but they are completely different builds.

It's not about a power war - you should learn about Lamborghini and it's heritage of which they value. SVJ puts down a lot less hp than the LaFerrari - care to wager which is faster on track :)

What I'm wondering/hoping is if they'll finally do away with the single-clutch gearbox. It's the one thing that kept me from putting down a deposit on the SVJ, and it pains me because I really wanted to want an SVJ. 😞

If you really wanted an SVJ you would buy it.

599GTO seems to be doing just fine :)

Lamborghini should be giving well over 1000 hp for the price. End of. From what I hear, the Project One will have over 200 hp more, serious AWD electric boost, and be 100 kg lighter, while being perfectly usable on the street and in EV mode.

I have no doubt in my mind that the LF is quicker on the track than the SVJ when you give them the same tires.

Except they have a history of passing down unremarkable things. Remember when they passed down RWS? RWS has been on far cheaper cars for a while now. It's nothing to brag about IMO...

Hell, I'm not sure the Veneno passed down anything at all. That Kris Singh guy threw a fit and left the Lambo forum after people kept saying it was just a bodykit and he would never prove otherwise.

You assume all RWS is created equal - like saying turbo V8 was introduced on the Jetfire Oldsmobile in 62 and so on.

Kris Singh is smarter than me.

I like Lamborghini cars but their company need to have better communication with their clients. It sucks how most dealers were telling their clients that only 250-300 total SVJ cars will be produced and then we learn the truth on the unveiling day. 900 SVJ coupes alone! This is how you lose customers by giving completely wrong expectations!

About NY debut of special Lambo. I don't get how their logic works. They invited some people that don't own a Lamborghini but people like me and some of my buddies that happen to own multiple Lamborghini cars (including the SV and having a deposit on SVJ) were not invited. Another negative experience!
