Key not found

All 5 Macs I have owned did this. Even a 750S on it's maiden test drive did this to me (but just didn't say it on the screen, it simply wouldn't start). There's nothing you can do to permanently fix it, but simply hold the key in your hand while you press the start button. Change the key battery as well.
But did the fob buttons still work? What he's describing is different from the usual unrecognized key problem.

I was told that the Transponder that picks up the key signal is weak. It is under the driver seat. Put the key in the net that is at the front of the drivers seat and be sure to push hard on the brake when you go to start.
This has always worked for me..
Yep, done all that. As I said before, this is a different issue. When my key is not detected, I just hold it over the start button as I push it, there's an antenna in the console and there are several others around the cabin including the bulkhead behind the seats.

I just cut power to entire house. Unplugged wifi, security, phone in airplane. Same results. Both keys communicate with car, but just by lighting up the circle around start button. When I open the door to get out of the car, it shows key found then goes back to not found. I'll keep everyone posted! This is insane! ( and brake pressed so hard I thought I would press through the floor)

Wish me luck, they're coming today to "remove" car from garage.
Mine had to be moved with dollies, after the truck driver had pulled the parking brake switch off the dash..... I bought a signal scanner, but it didn't pick anything up although that was after everything was ok again.

NOT so stupid of a question! I went to check my spare fob as routine to make sure the battery was still good etc and NOTHING! All the normal stuff done and when I got the MDS out, the key was not seen AT ALL!! I couldn't get it re-programmed or anything. It literally just died!! Sitting in my safe doing nothing.... WTF!!
I'm convinced that part of the issue is with the fobs. I've have one that always works (with the single exception as detailed above) and one that mostly works.

Zeekman, where are you from? Do you have a contact at a dealer you trust? You can always give them a call and ask what to do. Disconnecting the battery might do it but don't try without asking first.

Mike
That was the first thing I tried, it didn't make any difference. Disconnecting the battery is not a big deal, I've done it on several occasions now without any problems, so worth a try anyway. I eventually disconnected it and charged it overnight to no avail.

Hello all, thanks for the input. Yes I have 2 keys, changed battery on both justvin case. Both fobs operate the same, only lighting up the circle around start button. I also keep the keys in different parts of the house just in case. (Not my first mclaren).

Dealership..I'm in Clearwater FL so not far from Mclaren. They recommended lots of what everyone else has but nothing has worked. Mclaren is arriving in 15 minutes to pick up the car. I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks again all
Have them drive the truck down the road a few hundred yards and try it again.
