All I can say is OMG. The fastest sports car I've ever owned was a Ford GT, and I have to say there's no comparison. In the Ford I always felt like I was right on the edge. In contrast, the MP4-12C feels like it's wrapped around you and you're solidly in control. The mode settings are unbelievable and the car almost lulls you into thinking you're a better driver than you probably are. In "Track" it's a flat out BEAST. Anyway, the superlatives have all been talked about here already so I won't drone on, but WOW.

Cheers! Sounds like you enjoyed the ride. The GT is a very rapid car!
All True, the problem being when ive been on the edge i really have to calm down as i have no right to be doing that on the queens highway.Spring cant come too soon for the track days

Talking of track days, have you managed to get insurance in place for them ?
Talking of track days, have you managed to get insurance in place for them ?

I've had quotes at £3700 for car and track plus £1700 for car no track. A number of companies have said they will consider track day insurance next year when a profile of car cost has been established.

I have a clean license, full NCB , live in a benign postcode area and history of 911 ownership.

Excess for track quoted at £25,000.

So at the moment it is probably one off insurance for me when I do the track.
Well I got my insurance down to £1990 with two named drivers and an excess of £1250 care of Claire at Locktons, had my Ferrari insured with previously, nearest other quote I had was £2600 so was very pleased. All seem to be holding back with track day cover but Locktons do do this type of cover as they offer it to FOC track days, perhaps if Mclaren could organise an owners club and track days they may extend this type of cover to owners
So, do you now have one on order?
I'm seriously thinking about it. I went to the test drive thinking "eh...I've got an hour to kill and how great can it be anyway?" and now I've got the fever. It's an unbelievable machine.
now I've got the fever.
It gets worse once you own it! 12 days in a row I've driven it and I can't wait for morning to have another go.
