A few things
6th element: Thanks! The high school drive by was probably more spectacular. I hadn’t previously seen kids jump up and down as if they were on springs quite like that before. They knew immediately that it was a McLaren as I heard the name screamed. Like all of us, I’ve found about 12 needless and urgent errands to run this evening. I’ll see if I can find something critical to do 300 miles away.
Funny story: My neighbor is a newly married young and pretty gear head. I let her drive for about 20 minutes and her parting words were, “Well, the bad news is that my husband and I will probably never have sex again, because nothing can compare to that.”
Took a nice short but spirited drive. I’m an amateur race driver, so I have a fair idea of traction limits. First impression is that the car can turn faster than I could have ever imagined. Brake steer in particular is so amazing that it felt like a temporary suspension of the laws of physics. The car just seemed to pivot around the bends as if by magic.
Senna1994: Thank you! The strangest thing about the 12C, IMO, is that it seduces the eye so effectively in person that photographs fall embarrassingly flat in comparison. I bought this car based on photos and McLaren Configure and it is way better in the flesh.
InsideMcLaren: Thanks! Paint has the depth of the Volcano Orange. It reminds me of the VO model at Hyde Park, which had perfect lighting. Not sure how they do it, but the paint looks 3D under sufficient light.
