I have been working on a film featuring the McLaren MP4-12C. This is the first in my new 'Modern Classics' series.

The film is now live on YouTube, and for anyone that wants to watch it, here's a link: https://youtu.be/BhnitGOMfug.

The film features the car's designer, Frank Stephenson, plus McLaren gurus Dean Lanzante and Alastair Bols and lots of lovely cars.

Sit back and put your feet up, it runs for 30 minutes! And please 'Like', comment and 'Subscribe' if you have a moment. More of these films will be along soon, featuring more McLarens including the P1, plus Ferraris, Porsches and many more.

All the best, Vince

I think this video will become a Classic as well!

A very nice perspective and it included commentary from extremely influential persons in the cars design and evolution.

Yea this video convinced me to keep my 12c. I love this car.

One note is there was a lot of debate if frank really designed the 12c. He seems to want more credit for it these days but if I recall he gave interviews where they had mostly finished the design before he came to Mclaren and he only had some minor tweaks to it when he came on.

He gets full credit for the truly awe inspiring P1 which really created and extended the iconic Mclaren design language. I think the p1 is a classic on the order of the countach, it was a shocking departure from anything before it, and yet completely coherent.

but he 12c is still the only super car that is simple, understated and yet still looks like a super car.

Good video with a few good points concerning the MP4-12C becoming a classic.
Depending on what happens politically concerning the global environmental issue, I think within the next 5 years the early MP4-12C will pick up in price point a bit more severe compared with what we see today.

Last year i had my car in for 10 year service. Accumulators where replaced, transmission oil, engine oil, filters+++ and battery died and replaced with GEN3. Tire sensors replaced. Ratle from A pilar fixed with new plastic clip.

This year all i had to take care of was oil service/year service.

Grate car to drive, quiet and comfortable when needed. Also fun and loud inside with good road feel thru steering wheel. Love this car!

Still got mine.

Thanks so much for your very kind remarks! I'm almost embarrassed to admit that the next film is about a Porsche - 964 RS

Good story! When I took the car in the film back to its owner (we met half-way as he was handing over the next car in the series) he drove the car home and this was the first time he had driven it for a while as he has a large collection. He said that when he did so, he fell in love with it again and was surprised by just how much he liked it!
