Hi, I have checked across this McLaren I must say I am happy with the quality of advice given here.
It is a privilege to be here, recently I found my dream car, a fairly used 2012 McLaren MP4-12C for sale! And I can’t wait to make it mine.

They are asking for the price of $95,000 and it has 32500 Miles with a Salvage Title. Is it worth it or not?
If you guys have any suggestions on what to look at.
thanks

You have to be very careful with salvage title vehicles, especially high end exotics. You don’t know how it was repaired, who did the work, whether they cut corners because OEM parts are so expensive, etc… And like Zombie said, why does it have a salvage title? Was there frame/subframe damage?

Lots of questions need to be answered (and a proper PPI of course) before anyone can say anything about it being a good buy or not.

Almost certainly not. It will be difficult to sell, even if it was properly inspected and repaired.

A different car.

Why not just spend a little extra for one with a clean title?

Have @EMF Audio (McMedics) or Kevin Mcmedics inspected and that's it.

I bough mine salvage title at good price and I been dealing with some electronic issues, nothing related to the accident.
But this is a better option imo. In my case I bought for $40k to $30k less. For $15k more I will go with clean title.

If it's not at least 30% off market value being salvage, it's not worth it. That being said, maybe $95k isn't a hard price and for the right price it could be a great deal. Expert Inspection VERY necessary on that one. I've discovered doing inspections a car was salvage repaired before I was told it was a salvage title.

VIN 000644 is one of my old cars!

I sold it in 2017 to a forum member named Texzen, and he sold it last year to a guy that had it for approx. 30 days before a kid driving a Honda wiped out the pass side rear of the car.

Looks like its been all put back together and is ready for its second life!

Please watch this video.

The person who made the video and the audience seem to think this is great. But I am horrified cars like this are being sold. Not knowing if your panels are just bond-filled pieces of junk are a massive red flag.

Even one panel with a bit of filler can be spotted by a paint specialist, they have to tools.

Please stay well clear of this car, do not put money into the pockets of people selling supercars for money like this as it reinforces their delusion that filled panels and glass-fibre filled holes are high quality.

What's the problem so long as they're structurally sound?

I agree
As long as they disclose(obviously with a video of reconstruction).
I admit several times in my buying past, i have looked at many rebuilt titled cars. never purchased, but considered.
as long as there is disclosure of all the damage which sometimes not the case or not known.

Yeah, I looked at a beautiful 570S when I was shopping, it was about $30k below the market. I decided in the end to play it safe, but for a long-term keeper it doesn't look like a bad option to me.
