Ive just been asked if i would be interested to go on a joint trip of the Uk dealerships to watch the gt3 at Le Mans, sponsered by Mclaren,and then back to the MTC on the sunday 17th june,starting on the 15th.
Anyone else been asked,as i think its just in the planning stage for numbers at the moment??

I'm waiting to be asked to drive for them. Well maybe the Paddock scooter. No such luck here.

Do you know the full grid? will they be just demo laps? or are they entered for the full race!

Thanks Ritesh,the invite came direct from Mclaren so maybe they are considering a late entry if thats possible.It would be a bit pointless going on a 3 day trip at considerable expense if they are not racing,very confusing

Impossible, they can't enter a car due to it being a GT3 spec car (only GTE class allowed) and they're unlikely to get an entry as a one off due to the grid being filled with entrants from the World Endurance Championship, American Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series. Demo laps only but it'll be great to watch it at the track

Remembered that from whitmarsh interview that GT3 not illegible for le mans.......but I think he also said that they are planning to return someday soon

Yes Andrew Kirkaldy (think that's how it's spelt), the head of CRS Racing has said the car was actually designed with GTE class in mind so I'm of no doubt we'll see it make it's debut next year. I would seriously love to see McLaren back at Le Mans even if they can't contest for the overall win...

just had an update,as we now know there will be no race cars,it was just a idea to see if customers would like to go in convoy and enjoy Mclaren hospitality at the race,as many of their customers go anyway,it might be nice to join up under the Mclaren group
