I've just been informed that McLaren have today signed off a comprehensive range of MP4-12C firmware and hardware updgrades that fix a range of niggles including battery drain and over sensitive fault sensors. These updates will be available for installation into customer cars within a few weeks and will also allow deliveries of new cars to be resumed.

The 'bad' news is that for the updates to be fitted I am told that I will be without my car for 3 days!

Squirrel, have you had the 8.1 re-mapp yet ,which takes 16 hours or is this the combination of the 8.1 and 8.2 which solves all the problems. The second re-mapp is apparently longer so i can see were the 3 days comes in if you havent had the first yet??

How many bugs did they fix?

Do you know if the 8.2 update will fix the IRIS system? I'm still waiting for my car and I am guessing that the answer to my question is no! I have a TomTom so don't really need most of the IRIS functionality and would be happy just to have something to drive before the snow comes....:)
