Does anybody here have a garage car lift - AND are able to have the Mc on the bottom (dihedral doors)? I'd like to store a lessor used garage queen above my McLaren - but don't know if opening and closing the doors would be possible...

If you do have one and can open/close your doors while under the lift - could you please provide the model/dimensions of the garage lift and the height of your garage? Also if the windows need to be open or closed to get the darn thing to work.

"Had one for 2 years before we sold the house and moved. 720 or top or bottom no issue. Just get some protective pads from Amazon to put on the underside of the rails so when you open the doors they dont hit."

Had the same model with an Aventador - no issues

I have to park my 570 kinda off-center to avoid the door hitting it. My ceilings are not high enough to have another car on top AND raise the lift to the max height. Kinda sucked at first but I've gotten good at parking it. I do have to park with the driver window down. After getting out and closing the door, I have to hold the outside button raise the window all the way up.

It’s really easy if you’re willing to park the car with the driver window open. When you pull the car in, just position it with the driver side as close as possible to the edge of the lift, without hitting the posts of course.

With the window open, the door swings out enough to clear the lift above it. Again, the window needs to stay open because there’s no way the glass will clear. But the door itself will.

I needed a spotter the first time to help figure out exactly how to line up the car, but after a few times it’s been pretty much second nature for me.

Holy Crap! You were able to do that with a 720 coupe? What was the lift clearance between the top of the 720 and the bottom rail?

Im trying to find a pic with the 720 on the bottom but top or bottom was not a problem at all. I had 11 foot ceilings. You do need to cover the underside of the rails with some padding otherwise you will ding your door when you open it.

I'm also in the market for a lift. Are there 4-post lifts where you can open the doors without worrying about hitting the lift if garage height isn't limiting how high you can raise the top vehicle? I was looking at the Advantage DX 9000 XLT...anyone have experience with this lift? Seems like the extra length and higher height would make it possible to fully open the doors without any issues but it would be great if someone can confirm or offer alternate 4 post lifts that would work without having to be extra careful with the doors. Thanks!
