Hello all!

Just wanted to let you know that the final version MP4-12C Front License plate frames are now in production!

Here are the Production photos below. (North American versions)

As per my previous introduction in case you have not seen, you can see all the accessories online in the McLaren Accessories store.

If you would like any additional information please go to the MP4 Accessories Store

Thanks!

Andrew

I ordered one because it does not. From their website:

ExotiCARe's bracket uses existing factory screw holes under the front bumper for installation.

Thats good to know. I have always used the type that screw into the tow hook for my exotics, because here in Cali its just a fix-it ticket, and i will not drill a $3500 bumper just so they can pop me on an illegal "intersection camera" for safety reasons. Like me not having a front plate will reduce accidents

No drilling at all!! You use 2 existing factory screws under the bumper we provide longer ones.

Very streamlined! Once its installed it appears as though the front plate just floats in-front of the bumper.
Does not mess with the aerodynamics of the car either!

Exactly... I keep my front plate in the trunk, attached to the tow hook. "Sorry officer, I was at a track day and had to take this off." Then I put it on until I get home. Only once did I get the fix-it ticket. My home made bracket just clamps to the eyebolt.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will block my laser jammer. I'll just carry it in the trunk until I need to get the fix-it ticket signed off.

What are regulations?Over here the dealership just sticks the plates on with double sided pads,no drilling!! whats different over there??,or is it just the size of the plate that makes it not possible:confused:

The size of the plates don't quite conform to the bumpers in North America so Double side tape is not quite the option..

Some provinces/states have different laws. But most require a front plate at all times on the road

As an FYI to all Texas owners, due to a lapse in the relevant litigation, as of 2012 whilst it is still technically illegal to not have a front plate in Texas, there is no longer any ability to enforce this or fine you. Thus, whilst in theory you could still get stopped, the Cop can't fine you or write you up! This only applies to Texas as far as I know, and its due to one of the State statutes expiring and not being renewed.
I don't have front plates on any of my vehicles, been stopped in the past a few times, but only ever given warnings
