I had the amazing opportunity to go to a pair of track days at COTA 2 weeks ago in my 600LT. The track is amazing, and tricky to pin down. It took me most of the first day to get a feel for the driving line and to not get lost in the back half of the track. By the 2nd day, I was comfortable and improving with every session. I managed a best time of 2:27.30 on Michelin PS4S tires, which met my goal of getting a sub 2:30 lap time. I'm sure I could've easily squeezed another 2-3 seconds off of that time if I had my supercar 3R's on the car. Not the fastest lap I know, but it was only my 3rd and 4th track day with the 600, and my first time at COTA. Pretty sure next time I go I will be sub 2:25.

If you have a chance to drive this track, I highly, highly recommend it!

👍 Go and drive Silverstone, then tell us COTA it's difficult to learn! 😂

Nice Job!! I just got back from my first track session ever, also at COTA, in my 675LT. In all honesty it makes me never want to drive this car on the street again as the track is a whole new world of awesomeness! How did you like your PS4S? My Corsa's wore out very quickly, any recommendations for a "mainly track-only" tire? I plan to trailer to/from the course.

That's exactly how I was after the track. Driving on the street seems pointless now!

Man this is so great ! I love your reaction at 5:00 - that would probably be my reaction after every turn or just before I ran into a wall.

I share the same sentiments on this thread, after a few laps around a local track (in a slower than McLaren car), I later drove home at highway speeds and it felt like I was driving through molasses, everything felt like slow motion.

Those tires were really unhappy :) Too bad you couldn't run the S3Rs!

Never driven it, but this feels like a track that would be much quicker if the 600LT has some more (well much of any, really) downforce.

Nice driving!

The PS4S is a great all around street tire, but it will struggle on the track after a handful of laps. If you are doing consistent track duty, I would use the Goodyear Supercar 3R tires. They are among the best performing semi-slicks out there, and also have good life and are a reasonable price.

I was voicing my frustration because the car went into limp mode (it was getting a bit hot I think) just as I was starting to catch that GT3 😂.

Yeah, it was pretty clear that the car could use some more downforce, particularly on that super long sweeper T16-T18. That turn felt like an eternity, and the GT cars were def able to take it several mph faster than me (tires also playing a role there). I already can't wait to go back!

Haha, one day I hope to. I haven't had to learn a new track in quite a while, so just about anything new was going to be a challenge.
Yeah, COTA is a lot of fun. Silverstone is exhausting, how the hell they ever manage to overtake in an F1 car I have no idea, and there's pretty much nowhere on the lap where you can relax even for a couple of seconds.

That was the one corner where I couldn't keep up with the 720's, they were noticeably faster through there.

NT01's are fast and grippy all the way down to the cords. I thought mine were dead when I started seeing some showing through. Lowered the air pressure and proceeded to set a personal best @ COTA. Just another tire to consider.
I used to run NT01's on my R35 GTR. Great tire IMO, just a bit noisy. I looked and didn't see them in the right sizes for the 600LT, but I may have missed them.
