So at what performance levels would you say 3.5 is needed? Let’s use say a 12c / 650s
I think it would depend on the type of turbos that are being used, boost pressure, and if you want top end gains vs all-across-the-board power/gains.

Yeah im on the 22T comp side turbo wheel and 9 blade turbine versus OEM 12 blade, so much better flow on both sides. The nice thing about the 22T "map" is that the turbo is very happy on the 1.5 bar boost mark, it sit slap bang within the inner circle of efficiency on the comp flow map. So plenty flow going down and at about 800hp, im guessing that the 3.5 would probably on its own free up say 30-40hp on its own. Thats about 4% and at the same time reduce temperatures ever so slightly.
