Finalizing my Order!!

Well... I got a call from my sales agent. I need to finalize my order. "Freeze date" is 12/14/11(i.e. - date after which I can't change the order).

I went with:
V.O with Superlight wheels in stealth finish.
Standard brakes with Silver calipers.
No CF on the outside.
CF interior/Iris/CF sill.
Leather Sport seats with M.O. space fabric and stitching.
Super Light weigh exhaust.
Stealth Package.

Concerns? Comments? Anything major I am missing? I liked the Alcantara dash but they can't seem to match it with M.O. space fabric seats.

Special Ops will do Alcantara dash at a price so your dealer has to contact them or attach an email request to the order. Your spec is fine.

Sounds great to me Ritesh,but if your having space fabric ,the seats are leather anyway,so no need to order sports interior as its a standard item,and all the seats are the same ,other than electic or none?

Wonder if the callipers should be Black thus matches the stealth Pack and stealth wheels? Or Orange to contrast the seats (as you drive around with the doors open) and Orange callipers contrasts with stealth wheels?

I was considering the Orange calipers. I asked the Sales agent to compare the two on the rolling chassis and he advised against it. The Silver is close to the Mclaren Silver on the F1 cars so it should be OK.

Electric seats - I guess I should get them but my crazy thinking is that it adds weight and it is harder to find the "right" position sometimes. I prefer the simplicity of manual seats but I figure it would be smarter to go electric from a resale standpoint.

Oh and one last dumb question. Are all the 12C's being built in the new factory? I.E. do they all the issues sorted?

i would say stick with the standard colour calipers. the MO doesn't sit nicely with the VO exterior. and black would be hidden within the stealth wheels.

Funny, my order has the identical freeze date. I remainl torn between Fire Black and Mclaren Orange. My inclination changes with the time of day, barometric pressure and blood alcohol limit! I might just toss a coin and get on with it.

i agree with you on the seats,as i have gone for non-electric,if they had done a lightweight sport i would have had that.What i meant was that you said you were having the leather seat with sports fabric,but wanted an alcantara dash,if you dont get the dash,then thats just standard spec that you dont have to pay for.

I opted for alcantara interior with space inserts for the seats and it wasnt too expensive, but it was an extra charge. After driving a car with electric seats it seems like the electrics are not nessesary. I would have the seat fixed in a most rearward position so it wouldnt help to have the seat move back for ingress and egress.

European cars are being built in the factory(MPC) and USA cars are assembled in the staff car park when it's not raining, hence the delivery delays.

All known problems are now sorted except the no show of Doris, sorry Iris.

That's what I heard as well but I think it is under a large gazebo so should be ok

Thats lucky then,if they had set it up north,it would have been in a shed.

I like the spec. The silver calipers look good with the Volcano Orange and black wheels, nice contrast. The pictures i saw of the Beverly Hills Demo had silver calipers with VO paint, although they were CCM.

Are you sure the US cars are being built in the tent outside ? i heard European labour laws wouldn't allow the tent !! and everyone knows it never rains in Woking

Actually, my car already in transit so yes feel free!!

p.s. I bet the john at the factory is cleaner than the production floors of most competitors, anyway!
