The greatest part about turbo cars is the easy and cheap horsepower increase with software upgrade and dyno tuning. Have any racing shops started working to increase power yet? I think we should able to push close to 700hp with under $5k in mods. My only concern is traction but the reviews say that is not any issue, any real owner expiernce with traction off the line (no launch control)?

for his car you ll need, -2 cats (of the 4), upgraded turbos, headers and maybe also intake manifold. Then 680-700 could be possible. Next it would be cylinder head flow etc.
No idea how the internals would hold up though. I assume you would not be able to go to 911tt torque levels of 900nm+ though.

the problem will be the bottom end: Hefner in the US has just done a TT 458, but he can only run about 7psi as anything higher craters the bottom half of the engine. By contrast, the TT Ford GTs run up to 23psi of boost with no harm because that motor has a massive cross-drilled bottom end. I suspect that the MP-4 engine is highly optimised, so it won't be too easy to make extra power. Still I've got a plug-in coder and look forward to some clever programmer unlocking extra HP!

I would guess the MP12 engine will form the basic architecture for all the other models so presumably it can make more and , obviously, less power. Plus the revised MP12 or Mk2 will have more power using the same engine.

So I guess you guys want more for track racing. What does the GT make in BHP and Torque?

If I loose 28 lbs in weight it will have more power.

stock GT engine is 550hp and 500ft-lb torque. A smaller supercharger pulley and custom tune takes it to about 635hp with small increase in torque. New bigger supercharger can up the output to 850hp or so, and the twin turbo route takes it to over 1000hp. One of the GT owners has got his engine up to 1700hp on essentially still a stock bottom end. Most of the guys who do this tho' are going for top speed runs, not tracks. Remember that the GT has no nanny systems (other than ABS) to take care of you - many a tuned GT has been written off because of this! Top speed events are therefore relatively safe, trying to handle 1000+ round a track would be, err, difficult.
