And people wonder why Bugatti would be a good fit with Rimac. Multi-million dollar straight-line mobile struggling with a big ass Tesla sedan.

Imagine what the Tesla would do if you turned it into a 2 seater exotic built with composites...
And yet despite running an 8.6s 1/4 mile...the Nevera isn’t sold out...and the Chiron is...despite costing $2m more.

I agree it’ll be good for Bugatti to go hybrid with Rimac tech...but EV hyper cars don’t have any ‘cache’ yet. They still aren’t cool. Kids (and adults) still want a Ferrari/Bugatti/K-Egg over a Plaid or $2.2m Rimac. While that may change...Ferrari sales prove you don’t need to be the fastest to sell out...

Energy density is still the killer. You can use all the composites in the world but you are still hauling around that enormous battery.

That said, Tesla really did a nice job of abandoning ICE roll centers and tailoring the Plaid suspension to the low CoG BeV platform. Lateral grip is impressive which is why the car is starting to hold its own on the track. Even with that, it is still never going to be nimble like a 3200 lb 650 hp Mac.
