Dealer mark-up in the US?

So, when I ordered my 12C, I was told that the car would have a dealer markup, and that it would be capped at $25K, but that if other US dealers had lower, or no markups, then he would match that. So what have you guys been told? Right now I'm still at a $25K over sticker price. Be nice to save a few bucks.

What!? A dealer mark-up? Is McLaren allowing that? Never heard.

surely a list price is a list price, every country is different, but all dealers in the same country must be the same price, that is unless there is over production and they have to move metal with discounts, but a premium??
No premium at my dealer. That would have been a NON-starter, from day one.
HyperMac954. This must be a wind up, A DEALER premium!!!! I would email Anthony Sheriff and ask him about the equity in such a policy. His reply would be interesting reading!
lol - nm - I emailed my dealer and it's been sorted. No markup :~)>
Get a few more less-than-favorable reviews printed and you guys might be able to negotiate a discount? :D

just 3 contracts for sale so far in the uk,premiums from £25k to £50k i think, and 1 guy who wants to part x his 458,thats not a wind up!
lol - well, that deal was struck when I laid a deposit on the car, about 2 years ago. And like Andy mentioned, there's already a premium for a "used" car, so I was expecting the potential for a markup. Such as Ferrari does for new customers. That said, I am, as always, quite pleased with the customer service I've received from McLaren. VERY quick replies to emails, hook ups for events, etc. Been great.

Peloton, I have to ask - how are you so well informed about all matters McLaren F1?
