Daily or "nightly" driver

Hi guys,
I've been very lucky lately.
I had the opportunity to test drive the Mclaren and the Ferrari.
I do not own any of these super cars i'm more a biker guy who rides a BMW 1200GS as a daily driver (wich is a very nice bike.). My daily drivers car is an ordinary peugeot 3008. It's not spectacular to drive but well it get's the job done.
As anybody in a midlife crisis :) i hope we all want more someday.
Well i want more and i am in the market for something special. So i have been reading this forum and of course the ferrari forum as well and i decided to contact both dealers.
First thing that i noticed is the differences in buying or selling experiences if you wish of both dealers. They do have different approaches and vision on that matter. I like that a lot actually it makes it very hard to decide and it forces you to really carrefullly think and consider your choices and options.
But then came the day i waited for, the test drive of the F car.
It was the first dealer i contacted and i was a little bit disapointed by their approach at first but all worked out well once the test drive arrived. The first thing that came to my mind was that this is absolutely not a daily driver.
Later after driven the Mclaren i realised that the ferrari is much more a "nightly" driver. it comes to it full potential at night when the roads are cleared and the chics are out there. :). I was convinced that this is what i wanted.J
ust out of curiousity i still decided to continue to check the Mclaren dealer as well.
My god this was a whole different positive experience.
The opportunity to test drive the mp4-12 C came much sooner then expected and their approach is of a different level.
I still had in mind that i was into the market for a ferrari (because i read all the stuff you can read about comparisons between the two) and the F car is really really good believe me.

So i started out in my mind that i coul'd compare . All that vanished the moment i took place in the car. the feeling is so different as night and day is.
Ten seconds into the ride and i completely forgot about the F car. it is that much better for daily driving. The only thing i could really do was enjoying the ride . It is not as much flamboyant but i did'nt care at all. I really got annoyed by the lack of little things like the absence of a lifting device and a glove compartiment and nav sys and so on. I started thinking why that was.
Well you can really feel the strive for perfection in that car and so you start noticing small details. Now my mind is fighting the idea that i want a F car (wich probably comes from my childhood i presume).
In the f car i had the feeling that i could never use it as a daily driver. It felt much to exclusive and special or passionate for every day use.
In the mclaren i dide'nt care about my feelings for the competition i just enjoyed it and i could easely enjoy it every day as a daily driver.

That leaves me confused because i don't now wich one i really want and so i have to start thinking about who i really am in order to make a "reasonable" decision about this

or maybe i should wait and save money for a Pagani or something

Welcome Sergske. Are there specific questions we may answer for you? Yes, you are correct, the McLaren was designed to be the fastest supercar in its segment and also the most usable. Congratulations on making the decision to treat yourself; let us know what information you need.
As a data point - I daily drive my MP4, and my wife daily drives her 458. Both are quite suitable. They're very different cars to drive, but they both have good ergonomics, good ride, decent trunk, good stereo etc. The Ferrari has a more roomy cabin, the MC has less noise and a more compliant suspension. You can't go wrong either way.

Fun pic from the 458: it's a dog's life :)

Easy. You already forgot about the F car.

He rides a BMW motorcycle, or course he likes the Mac. Now if he drove a Ducati, well, think we know how that story would end.

Are you implying that the BMW is much faster on a track than the Ducati, or did you just mistakenly invert the names ?
"wich probably comes from my childhood i presume"

McLaren's F1 completely blew me away when I first saw it as a kid, I'm 19 now, and still pretty much head over heels in love with it. Ferraris never meant much to me, it's unbelievable how kids are brainwashed into loving the prancing horse.

Well, this would be the right decision.:D;)

Anyway, I´d choose the Mac. Definitely.
