Based on the latest from the factory, what are everyones new expected delivery dates?

Same boat as the others. Early 2012 build (just pushed to week 51), with delivery March/April. However, with everyone in the same boat, that strikes me as a bit scary. All of us getting roughly the same dates.

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago. What can I say - Fantastic!!! The pace is astounding but it's the suspension that has me in disbelief. Clarkson wasn't exagerating (much) when he said in normal mode it'll ride a large bump like a Rolls-Royce running over a Jaffa cake!! Yet with two clicks of a dial you're driving a track day car. Amazing.

Yes it was very late, but they're building something completely new from scratch. Not just the car, but the factory,the dealer network, the parts and distribution network, the service tools....The list no doubt goes on. It's a massive undertaking and I for one was happy to cut them some slack in return for being part of the adventure!

everything should be looking good for everyone now,ive just heard that i might be getting a call in a week for the final mapping (that is not the full iris,which is approx jan),which should solve all the minor issues,with that done all the factory cars will start to shoot out

Battery discharge,and the sensitivity of the sensors,which is what is frustrating customers,ie flat tyre,overheating engine oil,etc,anything that has a sensor really.Generally you just reboot the system and they go away,but occasionally you kick a tyre!!!Also the entertainment system is being reworked so things like the date of 23feb will go away,all very minor,as ive said if the car had not come with any of the luxuries (apart from the door sensor falt) it would have been great straight out of the box.ps The mapp has nothing to do with engine managemant,,suspension or gearbox which so far work fine,that is unless we get gearbox failures like on competitors cars!!
Need a paper too long to wait for the sunday times!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. Another downside is that for those of us who enjoy working on cars things are not getting easier either with all the electronics and increased complexity with things like direct injection etc.

I suspect that in 20 years from now it will be MUCH harder to work on a car from today than it currently is working on a car from 20 years ago.

997. Apple with have an App that 'reads' the car and tells you which bits to plug and replace.

However only teenagers will be able to understand it in 20 years time........same as today.

Definitely. In fact on of the things I really like about both the F40 and the Mosler is they are basically devoid of any complex electronics.

You do drive a car differently when you know there aren't any hi-tech systems that will bail you out if you push it too far.

I heard from my dealer yesterday that US delivery launch will be postponed until January to solve the electronics issues. They will still get their demo in November, but no customer cars will be here until next year.
