Congratulations to The Mclaren London team on organising the first MP12 Track Day at a dry Castle Coombe......Sinan, Alistair, Ben assisted by the Works Drivers, technicians and MPC staff.

High standards set by all and the car..........you have to take your car on track to truly appreciate it's immense capabilities.

The pit wall remained intact but some nerves were shredded, including the odd tyre.

Fun and informative day, thanks to Mclaren London again.

Agreed with all of that. The Works Drivers and Technicians were fantastic!!!

Having Pirelli there to swap the tyres round to maximise wear from morning to afternoon sessions was fantastic.

I renewed my fronts at the end of the day as they took a pounding :)

Nice meeting everyone. Some crappy pics taken from my Iphone.

PS Bruce your absense was greatly missed. Trust your European road trip is going well!

Kevin played a flanker Bruce,he spent all evening scaring the s--t out of me about that bloody pit wall.Didnt notice it after the first lap:D
Driver of the day was without doubt Albert,i even caught the Mclaren development drivers talking about him ,and how on it he was,Great job Albert, and nice to meet you,but you really shouldnt talk about Bruce like that;)

A quick note to Alistair, you made the mistake of making it too good,so now you will have to spend more of your time organising other events,A perfect day.
Oh and im late back because its torrential rain in the North!! You guys really have it too good.

Sorry Chris, didnt mean to miss you out,but its a long drive back in the rain!!
Andy did brilliant, I think he used the most petrol at three tank-fulls and missed the pit wall as his insurance did not cover pit wall damage.

Additionally I would give him driver of the day as most people were posing in fancy branded drivers shoes but he had snakeskin winkle pickers on, about 12 inches long, without hindrance to lap times.
By the way it was clear to all that VO is so common it will have the worst residuals:D:D:D

Andy you are such a poser - have you a pair of blue suede shoes too:D

Got the bosses luggage in for the trip 64 pairs of shoes etc - i have been given space for one small tesco bag. One of my mates emailed and said bring your tennis racket after length discussion he is bringing 2.

Nah Bruce,i only have one pair of Lucky Shoes. If i wear them when im with my wife i get Lucky:D
If I get invited again,i best secretly buy a pair Trainers,i will have to hide them though,as i might never get Lucky AGAIN;)
Kevin,i thought you might at least have taken a picture of my Shoes:)

My mate came with a very nice camera, when i get some pictures back i will post them also
Andy, good day. Reminded me how well organised track days ( without hooligans ) are what these cars are about! Oh and nice driving shoes!

Your mates camera must have good photos, what a big bloody lens........heavier than a carbon tub!

I am so jealous of you all, this seems to have been so much fun and beats a trip to Oxford to watch the grand prix and Goodwood last week where we were watching the cars rather than using them !!

No idea why I wasn't invited, perhaps I am not on the "A" list or just not pushy enough. Great gathering of 12c's how many were there ?.

Hope to join you all in the future
Chrisb. 17 cars, should have been 18. They will repeat next year and try to organise two events.
Chris,im pretty sure it was a London event open to all their customers.I knew about it only from this forum!
Mark from Manchester was hoping to do something similar, but as of yet he hasnt had the time,it was out of the blue that he had been discussing it with Alistair(and my name came up as id been badgering Mark for something of the same) Thats the reason i got invited:)

If have to say again how well it was organised,i think the problem they will have in the future is how quickly the take up will be,so watch this space!
Andy, drivers wearing winkle pickers get first refusal next year.:D
t got you there;)

No offence taken Andy. Good to meet some faces off here at last.
Must agree with all that has been said what a great day, and if any journalist says the 12C is soulless they need to get down to Castle Combe a fantastic car that just wanted to go faster and faster, wherever you pointed it it went .
The instructor were fearless ( i would not want to sit next to me going round ) Tiago inspired great confidence and knew the 12c's capabilities.
Pat on the back for Mclaren London , must keep badgering them to organise the next one
Contacted Alistair about the C/Coobe numbers and invites.

He said they restricted cars to 16 to ensure they met the noise requirement. However as the noise was within limits a few more cars will be allowed next year.

Alistair plans 2 events next year and he assured me there are no favoured invites and there is a difficulty with 100 plus cars sold to include everybody........seems to me this is a 'no win' regarding pleasing all the people all the time!
He assured me there are no favourites or specific customer bias.

In my experience Mclaren London try hard to be fair and even handed but it is impossible with these numbers and ratios.

So what your now saying is Lucky shoes dont get first refusal, make up your mind RIC:D;)
