Carbon engine deck, cover, aero bridge

So my 720S has the following combination of rear engine deck and bridge parts:
210337

I'm wondering if that is normal for a 'Track Pack' - it seems odd the engine covers would be one piece carbon, then the other piece gloss black. I would have thought they would both be done in carbon as part of the package.

Also the Aero Bridge fits well on the left side, but on the right there seems to be some 3M tape attempting to hold the rear section flush with the panel - the tape has failed and now there's a gap (not quite visible in my pic). The left side fits just fine without tape.

Is that all normal, or has someone swapped out the engine access panel? Maybe the aero bridge has slightly warped from the heat, or is this just typical for McLaren?

That looks like someone put an aftermarket carbon engine cover one, several makers have them. I have the track pack and mine is the standard matte black engine cover and shiny black piece above it. You can get both pieces in carbon if you want to switch out the top piece as well. You should be able to fix the gap with a new piece of auto 2 sided tape.

Some of the aftermarket carbon pieces have a insulation layer on the underside of the engine cover, this one likely does not, thus some warping. It is a pretty easy swap, take a look online and you can find a new one that is insulated and get the 2nd piece as well, if you want to go new/replace.

Yeah they're called 'aero bridge' as far as I'm aware.

However you have both the removal part in carbon and the louvred part in carbon - while I have just the louvred part in carbon. So that seems odd to me, you'd think it would be both or neither.

Who knows why that might be - I think my car was a McLaren presser (Left hand drive, but first registered in UK), so maybe they just stuck whatever on when it was time to be sold.

Both parts are optional and not part of the track pack. My 720s Track pack has the exact same combination as yours. Your air brake should be in carbon though. That IS part of the track pack. And parts not sticking due totape failure is quite common. McLaren always says "well it's handbuilt...stuff like that happens". Nothing to worry about. Since you are still in warranty McLaren should be able to fix that for free.
