Just about to order a new 570s and tempted to include the track pack, love everything included in the pack but unsure on how comfortable the carbon bucket seats are. Anyone have them ?? The car will be manly used for normal weekend road use and want Mrs JR to join me and not say ' not siting in those seats!'

They fit like an iphone case to the iphone. You kind of click into the seat and don't move. I find them very supportive and comfortable.

You should attempt to find one to sit in for both you and the Mrs.

I would bet the standard seats are the better choice for you. Several times when I give car guy friends rides in my 570 they have asked if my standard seats are sport seats. They are a great compromise sport/touring seat.

100% agree with Gary. I've also been in those CF buckets on the track and while awesome, for me they would be difficult to live with day in and day out.

I have them in my 650S and they are extremely comfortable even for 500mi drives. A little harder to get in and out of though...I like the simplicity and the fit, I would order them again. FWIW, 6'0 170lbs.

What Valentin says: try them first.

Mrs slumdog was not too happy the first couple of drives after switching the regular non-electric seats for carbon buckets but now she finds them very comfortable even for extended road trips. It's a personal thing though so best to try first.

The bucket seats are the best thing you can fit to the Mclaren (all models) imo.
If you don't fit in them, it will be the worst thing you can fit to the McLaren.

I had fixed bucket seats in my Porsche GT3, but I couldn't get comfortable in the McLaren race seat. The rake is not adjustable, and I found myself angled back more than I like, my legs angled up too much, as to cause an clearance issue between my thighs and the steering wheel, and the seat back not being tall enough. The "shoulder" area of the seat would be in my upper back. I'm 6'4". As cool as the seats were, I ended up selling them.

I'll also add that even the larger "touring" size is still quite snug. If you are even slightly heavy set, you may find that the seat is too tight in width.

Fair enough. I'd agree one would need to try the seats first as well but that goes for any bucket seat. The Mclaren bucket seat I find much better than the Porsche ones (cgt fixed back or 918) to be honest which are too upright and wide/narrow at exactly the wrong places for me. You can kind of adjust the rake on the Mclaren one though, there's 3 positions you can tilt it (of which I reckon the middle is the only really usable one imo as the other 2 are too far either way).

I love the racing buckets but If in doubt the fully electric adjustable, heated and memory sports seats are fantastic IMHO and the safer more resalable option.
Don't get me wrong buckets are desirable but just to less people and that's why they are quite rare.
If you track the car a lot go buckets but if you drive the car daily go sports seats IMHO

I'm thinking that too... I'd miss my heated seats in the winter and comfort entry is a huge plus when you're using the car daily. Still love to try the carbon seats sometime though.

I think I am personally on the upper limit for fitting in the normal bucket seats, at 6'1 215. The touring seats fit a little looser (I don't mind either) but for guys that are 6'4 and anyone above 225 you're really asking for a challenge.

Just for clarification, rake is not adjustable on the race seat. The multiple sets of holes on the drivers seat are for height adjustment only. Rake could only be adjusted by redrilling/physically modifying the sidemounts.

Something else to consider, the passenger side is fixed at the lowest height setting (only one set of sidemount holes), and if your significant other is short, they wont see over the dash all that well.

Long story short, test fit the seats.

By the way, I think every dealer should have every seat in their showroom for potential customers to try. This is the single most important interface between driver and car.

You have a very different set of seat mounts than me then. Strange. I adjusted the rake of the passenger seat back and tried a more inclined position on mine (with no change in height) and I didn't have height adjustment.

Thanks for your comments. I really like the spec and cost saving on the track pack ( here in uk anyway), but the bucket seats are the only unknown for me, guess i will have to try them first.

I have the Track Pack and the seats make the package. My wife and I find them comfortable and I fit like a glove. I also fit quite well in my Indycar (5'5"/135). I'm not sure what size the seats are, but I don't think I would want any other.

I have a set available if anyone is interested. They are as new and ready to ship. PM or call text me if interested 904-629-0887
It's interesting to see the buckets wrapped in leather. Was that a factory option? I've only ever seen them in alcantara.
