Car & Driver report on 25HP update

Starting a separate thread for visibility since this article suggests additional mods, i.e. front lift kit (no retrofit) and radio antenna tweak. Also they mention "transmission programming", which was not explicitly said in Sherrif's letter. Given the size of Car & Driver, its likely they spoke directly with McLaren before publishing an article, but I don't know that for sure.

6e,i think you mis- read the artical,it dosent say you cannot retro-fit the lift system,it just mentions that it will not be part of the free of charge retro-fit:)

Good point!!
You should note that when stopped, if you switch the suspension into track mode, the nose does lift - I've used this for speed bumps. So this lift option very well could be software based and offered to us!

That's odd; I would assume that (if in 'track' mode) the car would do the opposite and hunker down a bit. I wonder why it lifts instead ?

So from what I've now gleaned, the major changes for the 2013MY will be:
• a power increase of ~25hp / with revised transmission programming
• the availability to pop open the passenger door with the key fob
• an operational navigation system
• a new color (yellow)
• a selectable cabin engine sound function
• an optional lift system
• a price increase

Do I have all this straight? :)

Gallardo says new wheels too and don't forget Bluetooth with the IRIS. :)

A little birdie told me, they may just fit a membrane (switch) pad into the doors replacing the somewhat tricky swipe mechanism.:)

I hope not!! Mine works perfectly now. Too perfect. Goddamit this car has no soul! ;)
I would hate to see a switch/membrane on the door. I LOVE the doors as they are. Fantastic, and I've never had any trouble opening them.

I think you mean in normal mode it raises or track mode it lowers.
Either way, having height adjustment by user control would be a fantastic feature.
Slammed on the track or stilts for the speed humps. :)
No, I mean what I said. From a stop, if you put the car in track mode, it will lift the nose. It hunkers down again over 10-15mph.
wow, that's useful to know. I bet everybody has to try it as it is counter intuitive!

A no charge lifting system; you can't beat that deal!
10-15MPH?? What the?
So when I do 15MPH over a speed bump, Im screwed, and then when Im in traffic I have to come to a complete stop to go over? That sucks.
Trying to reuse that control switch due to a lack of buttons on the console is not good. I'll think of a better way to do it. Who knows Ron?

It's not intended to be a lift system.
