McLaren wins and is much faster than in Autocar/EVO. In line with McLaren claims.

0-60mph - 2,9s
0-100mph - 6,1s
0-150mph - 13,9s (autocar and evo - 15,3s)
1/4mile - 10,7s @ 134mph



One would think British mags would do their best to extract the best possible performance out of the car. Apparently not, in german autozeitung MP4 did 0-200km/h in 8,7s, faster than claimed and close to Veyron as tested by Sport Auto. I will scan that arcticle later.

458 FNE press car is featured (from Fifth Gear, Car magazine) in its first instrumented test and its performance is quite ordinary.

Finally - a realtively sane, relatively factual US magazine, with functioning test gear! How refereshing.
Thanks for posting - I don't get my copy for a couple of weeks yet!
Too bad they had to go to the UK to test the same cars as all the others. Would be nice to see a fresh crop of "North American" cars tested by the likes of Motor Trend.

WOW!!! That is blistering acceleration. Quite spectacular from a RWD car. Truly breathtaking performance. Well done.

....and I would argue that the 12C is on far inferior tires. pzeros vs. Sports cups and super sports

those are impressive figures! My Ford GT with pulley and tune (about 650hp) is good for about 7sec in the run to 100, although its just below 3sec to 60. This shows that, whilst blowers are good for low-end grunt, turbos win hands-down for top-end power. This is in fact a big debate on the GT Forum - some guys put monster superchargers on their GTs whilst other pull the blower off and fit twin turbos. The turbo cars are always way faster in standing mile runs (226+mph compared to 200-ish) simply because the engines aren't losing a big chunk of power to drive the supercharger. Whilst I have never owned a Turbo car before (a drive in a 930 years ago put me off), I can't wait to get the MP!

out tonight guys so just quickly posted video of the new exhaust,dosent sound too loud on the video,but in the cockpit you have to shout,i think this must be 1/2 as loud again as when i last heard it,goddness knows what the sports will sound like,if someone wants to upload it here,i dont know how to do it.

Anybody know if those accel figures are with a 1-foot rollout (vs. standing start)?

Even so, a 10.7 quarter mile is damn fast.

I wouldn't call the 458 FNE figures ordinary at all.
Car and Driver results are with 1-foot rollout. All the data should be increased by about 0,3s to get results comparable with EVO/Autocar. Considering this fact, their initial launches with MP4-12C and especially GT2 RS are not that fast. But apart from the launch, MP4 is much faster here than in EVO.

I find 458 results ordinary, you can find customer cars trapping over 132mph at 1/4mile and having better 60-130mph than this press car. But really don´t want to fall into that senseless discussion again.

Car and Driver results are nothing compared to german Autozeitung results. Translating their data into Car and Driver methodology (mph,1-foot rollout) we get something like this :

0-60mph - 2,5-2,6s
0-100mph - 5,6s
1/4mile - 10,4s @ 136 mph

Sounds very loud to me- if you are saying it is louder in real life, then it must be quite 'emotional'!!!

More importantly, it sounds unique and bloody amazing in its character. Well done!

p.s. LOVE the blip on the downshifts...
