New video of the car testing. You can hear it at the end but it doesn’t sound like the 8.0l W16 to me.

Sounds like the W16 to me.

This car is amazing, and everything I've been waiting years for, someone to make a big engine high power all out track build. If 0.67 kg/hp is legit, that's the craziest power to weight I've heard of. That's almost twice the power to weight of Gordon Murray's T.50s.

Holy shit. About the same power to weight as the Mercedes W11 and a little bit better than the 919 Evo.

All in all, this car is probably slightly slower around the majority of tracks than a 919 Evo (faster at Monza). That said, a lot has to do with the size and weight of the W16 and transmission. I'm very very glad someone has made an all out ICE effort. I've waited years for someone to do it. This thing shames any of the tin top McLaren, Ferrari, Pagani, etc track cars. In the same vein as the Valkyrie AMR Pro, and way faster at a track like Le Mans. Hats off. Now if someone could put together a ground up design with a bespoke racing V10/V12 twin turbo (sprint spec) with near or more power, shave off 3-400 pounds (narrower cockpit as the transmission tunnel will be much smaller and behind engine Formula style) with a small hybrid front wheel drive setup (like Mercedes Project One), that would be truly spectacular. With the current realm of technology, a lap deep into the 4 minute range at the Nurburgring should be possible. Would take a killer budget to accomplish though.

those numbers were never realistic for a customer usable product ... the Bolide you see here is not the car that was introduced before, but one that is drivable without massive support and also comfortable enough to let normal ppl and not only full time race drivers operate it ... additionally the engine does not need servicing every few hours but is relatively close to the regular Bugatti 16 cylinder unit
I'm less concerned about the engine (which the original figure was on race gas) versus the weight gain. 250 kg is a massive amount. Gordon Murray would stuff another V12 in that Bugatti
