8000 miles of hard driving and a trackday and still on the money, what i have noticed is that i always filled in the holes with pad on my porsches ( i am not the most sympathetic at braking). But on the 12c they are fine, and my rotors only lasted 5/6 k miles on my first turbo. So im very pleased so far.Did anybody had to change break discs already ? And when, why?
True, but if you could translate german as good,we would be impressedBreaking disks is very dangerous and expensive. Not recommended.
That's a ridiculous suggestion. I'm British and he's German. Completely different standards of intelligence and education.True, but if you could translate german as good,we would be impressed![]()

Discs vs Disks. Why? Flat, round, thin, is there a difference?Brake Discs
So our favorite poster Mark from the US should actually be using disk whilst the rest of us not in the US would use disk. Tis the folly of English.A disc (International English) or disk (American English), from Latin discus which itself derives from Greek δίσκος, is a flat circular object.
But in the USA we say "brake rotor", in English we say Brake disc !So our favorite poster Mark from the US should actually be using disk whilst the rest of us not in the US would use disk. Tis the folly of English.
Methinks the Brits are right again (said the Yank). After all, we don't call them ROTOR BRAKES now, do we?But in the USA we say "brake rotor", in English we say Brake disc !![]()
What is your total milage?? But i still think after all that trak (notice what i did there) time its not bad value for money!! The disks are replaced fully, the hub also,i initially though they might keep that, but it would be too time consuming to brake (did it again) them down.I would be interested to know the cost as you wil be the first on here to do so??Thank you so far , andy. It seems that after 2 Sessins on the NS and another 2 in Spa and some minor meetings my Steel- BRAKE discs () are going to the end.
replacement of hydralic fluid in the suspension system every 2 years also, that has to be quite uniqueInteresting related point - McLaren sales manager was telling me wheel bolts are replaced at 2 year service point (and every 2 years subsequently) - I don't think the wheel bolts are particularly light weight so it would seem to be an unusual service interval?
Are there any other (unusual) service items with the 12C? (I know we haven't reached the 2 year service yet)
Wonder if this is necessary, or just another money maker for Dealers? Seems like overkill to me?Interesting related point - McLaren sales manager was telling me wheel bolts are replaced at 2 year service point (and every 2 years subsequently) - I don't think the wheel bolts are particularly light weight so it would seem to be an unusual service interval?

Well, better this than a broken center look as seen on quite a few GT3's recenlty. It seems uncommon to me but they certainly have a reason to do so (other than making money).Wonder if this is necessary, or just another money maker for Dealers? Seems like overkill to me?
