Hello to everybody. I am new to this forum and animated by a passion for the new MP4-12C. I am currently starting a blog dedicated to the MP4-12C to share my interest for the car and I will try to publish as much information as possible about the car - mainly from public sources or the media center from McLaren, as unfortunately I am not a prospective buyer and will not have access to some inside information you would get. Anyway, I publish the link here should you be interested to pay a visit from time to time.

I live in the USA and ordered Fire
Black 12C some time ago.
I am now told by dealer that software issues
will delay deliveries to the US until 1/12.
There are so many diverse stories in the
car magazines.
Does any one who is a 12C owner or
future owner in Great Britain have
any definitive information as the progress by
the factory on correcting the software
issues and the resumption of deliveries to
the US?
Thank you.

fasferrari. cars continue to be built and at this time left hand drive is in production. Shipments are on hold until the revised software for, mainly, onboard info systems is published and proven. This is f/cast to release within the next 6 weeks.

Mclaren are expected to boiler plate the revisions before cars are shipped. Thus when proven backed up production, now inventoried, will flood into the market.

Time will tell

My car has all current upgrades and is due another in two weeks! As far as I am concerned it is running perfectly! I then await the Iris with anticipation!

The issues have been blown up beyond proportion by a press bandwagon determined to discredit the car I can only ponder the motives, but it's pretty inexplicable imop

When owners start getting cars in the US they will start salivating and demand will soar! my bet is Mclaren will want to satisfy it! Uk starts screaming for cars Mclaren get earache!

My car is here. I visited my car at Mclaren
Greenwich in Connecticut. The dealer has completed
PDI and is having the protective coating
installed on the car.
My car is Fire Black. My light wheels, which are
diamond cut look great.
The carbon leather and alcantara interior
looks nice.
I am told I will have my car next Tuesday --
just in time for the first winter tempeture of the
year for New England.
I can tell you that the McLaren crew are great.
From the detailer to the mechanic everyone is mice
and knowledgeable.
The service facility at Greenwich, McLaren
is world class. McLaren shares space with
several exotic breeds including Bugoti,
Aston, Bentley, Rolls and Maserati.
The total facility has been rehabbed.
The facility is painted in very light paint
to match the new tile on the floor.
Where ever one looks, a new MP4 or
DB9 or an Aston etc. are being worked
on neatly dressed mechanics using the
state of the art tools and equipment.
It is very impressive sight.
Parked in the building and outside in a very
safe area I saw many MP4's in many
different colors.
I will drive my car this Tuesday--New England
weather permitting and will post lots
of pictures and my impressions.

Sounds wonderful - congratulations!

Very smart to get the paint wrapped before you brave the roads. Hope your first drive doesn't get whited out next week. It would be a shame to have to bring it home on a flatbed.

I was reluctant to go for fire black, and even
had my reservations until I saw the
fire black in the sun and then inside the
dealership.
Fire black is very impressive: black in
the dark and glistening black with strong
presence of orange in the light : natural from the
sun and artificial from the strong lights
in the dealership.Very dramatic.
I am assured the plastic coating will not
alter the drama of the color.
Since Greenwich McLaren is ownd, and
located next to the Ferrari dealership-- both
owned by the same people--I have been
to the Ferrari dealership often from 328 to
458 and I am very comfortable dealing
with Mr. Koppleman and his extremly
capable staff.
Tomorrow delivery and test ride day.
Will report with pictures (once I learn
how to add my iPhone pictures to thec
McLaren Life blogs.
