You're thinking of McLarenEPA/Diagnostics, its a result of right to repair law legislation. It only does keys and can flash modules.I tried looking quickly but couldn't find it. I had it installed but uninstalled it a while ago. I'll see if I can find it again.

It's not like you're inventing new technology here, you're simply emulating the original tool. Everybody does the same thing and if you're not you're doing it wrong. Check out my other thread for alternativesI've written some tools for the tuner market and one thing I think we can all take heart in is that, once someone figures it out, everyone will copy it and this tends to drive costs down.
I hated being replicated for a fraction of the price but am rooting for the same to happen here![]()
This is a bad strategy and not feasible even for the ChineseWe need a hacked clone of the factory tool (normally provided by an enterprising Chinese engineer with no intelectual property rights restrictions). Regretfully, this amounts to rooting for theft which I have a hard time doing.
